I have never left a bad review for a salon but then again I’ve never been this upset at a haircut. My hair was about an inch past my chin and I came in to simply get it shortened up and showed the stylist a picture of the length I wanted and stated that I wanted it the same length all the way around. We started with a shampoo and she didn’t even get the soap all the way down to my scalp, basically just washed the top layer of hair. I knew I should have just left after that but I went against my better judgement and let her proceed with the cut. She gave me the impression the whole time that she did not know what she was doing. She put the cape on me and didn’t use one of those paper things that goes around your neck even though they were right there and that’s been standard at every other shop I’ve been to. She seemed very inexperienced and kept dropping her tools. I get it. I’m super clumsy and I don’t like calling that out but given the whole situation it was something to note. She cut it and asked if I was ok with the length and I had to point out to her that the right side was at least 1/2 inch longer than the left. This is where I genuinely started panicking. She looked at it for a minute (even though it was painfully obvious one side was longer) and then agreed with me it was too long and shortened up the right side. Then she started doing what seemed like an undercut which I DID NOT ASK FOR. At that point the front looked sort of even and she asked if it was good and I just said yes because I’m not going to let her keep cutting my hair shorter and shorter trying to even it out. I paid and left and kept trying to tell myself it wasn’t that bad. When I got home I got my husband to take pictures of how it looked and when I looked at the pics I started having a full blown crying fit. It’s sooo uneven. The pictures really speak for themselves. I’m mortified. I have to now pay for someone to fix this and I don’t know how short it’s going to end up. I was getting my hair cut because we’re going on a trip which is a rare occurrence for us and now I feel horrible about the way I look. I can’t afford to get my hair done often and to have this happen on the rare occasion I can is devastating.

I had my haircut and color done by Mónica and I absolutely loved it! She always listens to what I want, and she previously did a hair straightening for me that I also loved. She’s professional, kind, and very talented. The results are always exactly what I’m looking for, and I’ll definitely keep coming back. Highly recommend!

I have been looking for a stylist to lighten my hair for a while but I was scared of ruining my hair or getting the wrong color. I decided to give Genesis salon a try after reading the reviews. I called and got Pina to do the job. She sat with me, listened to my concerns and gave me her suggestions. Pina did an amazing job!! I’m very happy with the results. She’ll be my hair stylist from now on.

Marisol was so kind and helpful. I came in with a vague idea of the cut style I wanted and a picture. She helped fill in the unknowns of my idea with her experience and had such a positive, pleasant personality. Also the price for my wash and cut here was WAY more reasonable compared to a few salons I’ve visited around San Antonio. I will absolutely be coming here again!

I had a great experience! Monica took good care of me and I left feeling refreshed with my hair cut. Will be coming back! And bringing my Mexican mama 💗

Pina is wonderful! She took her time and gave me exactly the cut and color that I wanted. I came to her with a bad uneven cut and she masterfully fixed the cut. She listened to what I wanted and asked questions to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. I love the color too! I now have a new hair dresser. I highly recommend! You won't be disappointed.

Had dental appt next door. Needed a cut. Popped in and asked if they had time to knock it out. First time. Wasnt sure if they cut guys hair. Spoke with Gabby and she obliged. I asked right now? She said sure. She did a fantastic job and was friendly. Cleaned me up nicely even w a wash! Not much more than one would pay at a "chain" haircut with better service! It will be my new place for sure!
