Color me Pretty Hair Salon

My stylist was Rosy and I was always happy with my hair until my last visit. The salon is 2 hours away from my house, but I felt that her work was worth the drive. My last appointment was 5.5 hours and I was unhappy with the outcome. We did baby lights and I asked if she could do my toner a little less ashy and I didn't like how the toner turned the front of my hair purple the previous time. She applied the toner and when she rinsed it, my hair looked medium brown. She said that she had never had this happen with toner and proceeded to "fix it" by re-foiling the brown parts and bleaching them again. She asked me if I could blow dry my own hair because her next client was waiting in her chair, but quickly changed her mind because she stated that the salon may get in trouble if I was styling my own hair. She sloppily dried my hair and did a quick trim. No style, before she charged me $525. She didn't like how orange the roots were and offered to get me back into the salon in 3 weeks to do a partial, which would cost $380, in addition to the $525 she charged for this mediocre job. I thought I may like it after a couple washes, but didn't. Messaged Rosy in a calm and professional manner requesting a partial refund and stating that I couldn't justify spending another $380 to fix the mistake only to be blocked. One of my family members is in the hair industry and has shared the experience and messages between Rosy and I to the group and many California stylists agree that this is absolutely unprofessional and unacceptable. Good hair isn't cheap and I have no problem paying for work that I'm happy with. In addition to my experience, the client of another stylist was not masked because she lived in Roseville where masks aren't mandated. This is not the case for Sacramento. It seems as though the salon didn't seem concerned with not following the mandate, which probably probably won't go over well with State Board. I'm not sure if Rosy missed the lesson about ethical business practices in school, but I hope my review will help others from making the mistake of making an appointment with her. For someone that received their beauty license in March of 2020, I’m not sure how she feels she should charge prices that a master stylist/salon owner would charge. The owner reached out to me to let me know she didn’t think it was very nice that I would blast someone on the Internet, but I don’t think it’s very nice to treat well paying clients like they are just another number and then block them instead of handling the situation like a grown adult. She has gotten my hair platinum to the roots in one session in the past, as posted below. Therefore, there is no excuse as to why my hair looks red, orange and rainbow today.

I have been getting my hair done going on 4 years at Color Me Pretty! It’s the cutest salon ever filled with talented stylists. Monica is my stylist and she never disappoints me ever!

I only trust Rach with my hair! Best hair stylist ever. I always get compliments on my hair, her work speaks for itself!

I love this place the ladies were very nice when I walked in, it's really beautiful modern inside. I went for a haircut. I showed Blanca a picture of what I wanted and she did exactly what was in the picture I showed her. I love just overall experience there I would highly recommend. Ask for Blanca, she's the best!!! They also have a lady who does eyelash extensions those look gorgeous.

I thought I got lucky being able to book a last minute appointment with Janet but her time management was really off. My apt was delayed for 1 hour(which I didn't mind) then when I arrived 30 mins early to the salon at my updated apt time, she asked me if I can come in another hour later or the next day. So I decided to look elsewhere and cancel because I'm afraid my appointment time will get delayed again or canceled. It's very unfortunate because I was looking forward to getting my hair cut at this salon. I won't book with this business again.

I booked an appointment and the day of the hairstylist asked me politely if I could change it to the next day, so I agreed. Then the next day she kept asking if I could wait, and then just stop talking to me never had me come in and told me my roots weren’t grown out enough. It had been 10 weeks prior to my last bleach and she hadn’t even seen my roots. Totally ghosted me. Wasted my time
