I've gone twice. The first time I came in for a breakdown(cornrow) and it was ATROCIOUS talk about it unraveling and parting done wrong. 2nd time coming today for wash, blow dry and braid down. The wash wash not great, my scalp still felt dirty and flaky. The braid down was severely amateur hour. No instructor around to check on the work of their students, during or after the service. My stylist even said she isn't great at parting. Which begs me to think and ask myself why they would book me with someone who isn't a braider??? At my second appointment today when I went to check out, the receptionist even commented "looks a little better than last time". And even confirmed my stylist today is not in the system as a braider so they couldn't check me out under the person and actually checked me out with who in their system is a braider. Both stylist during my two separate visits were nice and friendly. All in all the instructors need to do better at being on the floor and checking their students work and asking the clients how their visit went.
I went in for a simple tone and haircut and it turned into an 8-hour nightmare. My hair looks nothing like what I asked for it’s actually the complete opposite. The stylist left toner on my hair for over two hours, and to make it worse, the toner was expired. As a result, my hair turned bright orange, including a very noticeable orange spot right on the top of my head. Toward the end, they literally started turning the lights off while blow-drying my hair because they were closing. I was rushed out with my hair still soaking wet. On top of all of that, they never even cut my hair, which was the entire reason I went there in the first place. Despite completely ruining my hair, they still made me pay for the service. What made it even more embarrassing and upsetting was that other students in the salon were visibly shocked, openly apologizing to me because they could see how bad the situation was. This place clearly allows people with little to no experience to work on clients’ hair, and it shows. The lack of professionalism, accountability, and basic competence is shocking. Do not waste your time or money here stay far away from this place.
I walked in and told them I had a 5:30 appointment, and they didn’t have me in the system. That was the second time I had a booking issue. The first time I came in, the girl who was supposed to do my hair wasn’t there, so a different girl offered to do it. The owner told me to give him a few minutes, and whichever girl became available would work on my hair. A couple of girls ended up working on it. The girls there were nice. One of the girls asked the owner to help blow-dry my hair, and he told her he would. He ended up going outside, forgot about me, and left me sitting in the chair for 20 minutes. Mind you, my services were just a gloss, which takes about five minutes, and a curl nothing more. I still ended up leaving three hours later. However, the owner, Mitsu, something seemed off with him from the beginning. When I went to pay, he told me the service was $100. I knew that was not right. Another stylist overheard him and told him he was adding services that I never received. He then said the gloss alone was $45, and the other stylists said it shouldn’t have cost that much. He was rude to his student for trying to defend me and help me. He became nervous and said he would discount me and charge $85 for a clear gloss and curl. I told him that wasn’t right either. Then he said, "Okay, I’ll give it to you for free, but don’t come back here at all." I told him I wanted to pay, but I wanted to pay the correct price. Mind you, the last time I came in for a root touch-up and style, I only paid $64, so I knew for sure he was overcharging me. Thank you to the girls who stood up for me, my hair looks good! I ended up just giving the girl a large tip! I’m really sorry you have to work in a bad environment!
Do not go here for a balayage! I believe it was a Hailey that did it. Now I have to pay $200 to fix this mess. I also will note that my original appointment was supposed to be 10:30 , they called and told me to come at 12:00 so I got there early and then was told lunch is at 12:00 so it would be 12:30, well the stylist didn’t even start until 1:00. I couldn’t see what it looked like before I left because it was wet and I was not offered a mirror to see the back. One side of my hair sat in bleach for over an hour while the other side maybe 30 mins. The technique used pulled so much of my hair out (teasing), there are better techniques than this.
Alma did an amazing job and was so helpful and nice!!! She cut and colored my hair, and styled it afterward and my hair has never looked better! I came in without really a clue how to fix my hair and she helped me pick a color and a cut that I love
I was hesitated at first but willing to give it a try. I had a hair cut and highlights. Ana was my stylist, she's awesome and sweet. She listen to me and how I want my hair to be like. Again my hair is very dark and she manage to get my hair close to the color I want. All instructor are knowledgeable and make frequent checks to make sure everything is going smoothly. Love my hair after it was done. I got many compliments about my hair. I will never go back to a salon. Mitsu hair academy can do the same job as high ends salon and the price is half of a salon it's very affordable. I will go back for my next appointment.
We came for a fun and relaxing girl evening out. The techs took great care in ensuring that we came out with beautiful nails. Thank you so much for the great service.
