Velvet Monkey Salon - Plaza

Tristan @ Velvet Monkey Salon is an absolute ROCKSTAR! I’ve been going to her for years — I even followed her when she moved to Velvet Monkey because she is that AMAZING. She has literal magic hands and gives the BEST shampoos ever… like, melt-into-the-chair level relaxation. I have blind trust in her to do whatever she wants with my hair, and somehow it always turns out even better than I imagined. At this point most of my family goes to her too, which says everything! The whole Velvet Monkey team is so friendly, the music is always great, and the vibe is just fun and welcoming every single visit. Highly, highly recommend!

I had an amazing experience with Destiny! She is an absolute perfectionist when it comes to applying bleach, toner, doing blowouts, and cutting. I requested ice platinum highlights with a solid color at the nape, and she absolutely nailed it. The results were stunning and exactly what I envisioned. The atmosphere was casual and comfortable, and conversation with Destiny was easy and enjoyable throughout. On top of that, her pricing is very reasonable for the high quality of work she delivers. I highly suggest and recommend booking with her—she is fabulous! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Jessica Cabibbo is awesome. She always gives me the best cut and is great at defining what style I’m looking for and how to adapt that to my hair type. The atmosphere of the Velvet Monkey is the best, relaxed, and welcoming. Love this place.

Absolutely had to leave a review! I came in for a cut for the first time and worked with Cat. She listened to what I wanted and delivered, this is my favorite haircut I’ve gotten, I’m OBSESSED with it!! She was super easy to talk to and got me in and out fairly quickly too!

Stopped in while on vacation. They took me right in as a walk in. Everyone was very nice and the shop was cool. I was able to get a more creative cut without having to argue for it, which was awesome considering a lot of stylists will often lock horns over this. I sat with Sarah, and she took the time to really understand what I was going for and gave me just that. Located in the Plaza District, there’s a fair amount of free street parking all along the strip. My only complaint is that I don’t live locally, so I can’t come back soon.

Sofie is absolutely amazing!! I have a hard time with letting people do my hair because of past bad, and botched experiences, not here, at other salons in the metro. However, Sofie made me feel welcome, comfortable and cared for! I cut my extremely long hair and had it colored. She cut it the perfect length just as I asked. I showed her a picture of the color I wanted and she matched it perfectly. My hair color is exactly like the picture. She worked efficiently and we didn't feel rushed. She trimmed my daughter's hair too. I'm so glad my daughter found her and I went in and was able to have an amazing experience. I'm extremely happy with my hair!! I absolutely love it!! My husband thinks its beautiful! Definitely coming back to her next time!!
