Being a natural blonde with finer hair and always being in and out of the ocean, I have always been pretty anxious to get highlights or balayages. I wasn’t sure if I wanted a balayage or a full highlight and I hadn’t had my hair done in almost year and a half. Charles listened to what I wanted and helped me pick the best service to achieve that. He also was extremely sensitive to my hair health and added conditioner to the bleach and chose to use a low volume recognizing my hair lifts very easily. I really appreciated how he listened to my concerns and continually reassured me and explained his process. The experience at the salon is too notch. Charles and his assistant were working on my hair together and I felt like they were really paying attention to every single detail. I do not think my hair has ever looked better and he did an amazing job at giving me exactly what I wanted. He did super fine highlights and blended it out so seamlessly to compliment my natural hair. My hair feels great and I can’t wait to go back!

Charles is an ARTIST!! I am so in love with my results. He is truly a master at his craft 😍 I have been getting balayages for years but he has given me the hair I have always dreamed of having. He also gave me an amazing haircut with soft layers, which gave my hair life I didn’t know it needed. He was extremely meticulous and no detail went missed — you can tell he really focuses on delivering quality work to all his clients. I walked out of the salon feeling like a Pinterest photo! And above all, he is so sweet, accommodating, and attentive to my needs. In the sea of hair stylists in NYC, Charles is one of the very best. I am definitely coming back to see him for my next hair appointment. Highly recommend booking him ASAP!

Charles is absolutely amazing! He took my hair from a brassy mess to exactly what I wanted and even educated me on how best to treat my hair without damaging it from excessive coloring. My color now 6 months later remains perfectly blended, natural and soft looking. Cut was superb as well. So happy with everything! Highly recommend.

DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON. The high rating is completely misleading and does not reflect the real experiences of many clients. I made the mistake of trusting the 4.9 stars instead of reading the lowest reviews don’t repeat my mistake. I went in for a simple process color and very clearly, repeatedly asked for a natural brown. The stylist ignored my request and used excessive bleach, severely damaging my hair. What should have been a routine service turned into a disaster. My hair is now damaged, dry, and compromised, and the experience ruined my entire day. I feel scammed, disrespected, and taken advantage of. This salon shows a complete lack of professionalism, listening skills, and care for clients’ hair health. I’ve included photos so people can see the damage for themselves. Save yourself the money, time, and emotional distress. Read the negative reviews and go somewhere else

I recently had my hair colored here and the experience was amazing. I came in with my natural light brown hair and left with the most beautiful blonde balayage — it looks so natural, dimensional, and perfectly blended. Charles Wan took the time to explain the process, made me feel comfortable, and really paid attention to detail. The end result is soft, healthy-looking blonde that compliments my features and grows out seamlessly. I’ve already gotten so many compliments on it! The salon atmosphere was welcoming and professional, and I didn’t felt rushed. I highly recommend Charles W if you’re looking for balayage or color work that looks polished but effortless. I’m thrilled with my hair and will definitely be back.

I never imagined a hairstylist could be so focused and dedicated. During the several hours of work, Charles hardly ever stepped away. He stayed by my side the whole time, constantly checking the condition of my hair. making sure every step was done with precision. I know my hair is not easy to work with — I had bleached it not long ago at another salon, so bleaching again required extreme care. But he made me feel completely safe. He protected my hair as much as possible while still giving me a huge transformation. What impressed me even more was his professionalism. I actually heard the front desk ask if he could take the next appointment, and he politely declined just so he could finish my hair perfectly. That level of responsibility and commitment is rare. The before and after results speak for themselves - Charles not only transformed my hair, but he did it in the most gentle and thoughtful way. I'm beyond grateful and couldn't recommend him more!

I’ve been struggling to find a trustworthy stylist since moving to the city. My hair always looks good the day of the appointment but never after washing, and I was constantly pushed to get pricey hair treatments. I waited a couple of days before writing this review, and I’m so glad I did because my cut and tone still looks amazing. I originally came in wanting to cut my hair short, but Alin took the time to explain what would actually work best for my hair and even warned that I might regret going too short. I’m so glad I listened to her. She didn’t rush, paid attention to every detail, and gave me a cut and tone that still looks great at home. No upselling, just honest advice and real skill. I’m so relieved to have finally found someone I can trust!
