I’ve been getting my haircuts at Kida since 2016, and I’m still coming here for a reason. Over the years, I’ve worked with different barbers here. I started with MJ (who now owns his own shop in downtown Manhattan, which is hard for me to commute to), and now I’m with Yoei. No matter who I’ve worked with, the experience has always been consistently great. 1. I’ve kept the same hairstyle for over 10 years, and when I walk in, I don’t even need to explain what I want they already know. 2. The vibe is calm, cozy, and relaxing, which is exactly what I look for during a haircut. 3. They are always on point with the results, and I’m genuinely satisfied with the service I’ve received over the years. 4. They stay busy, so I always book three appointments ahead to make sure I get my spot at the time I need. Consistency, comfort, and trust are why I’ve stayed with Kida for nearly a decade.
I've been going to Kida for years now, and before I found Kida, I tried hair products that would feel leave my hair feeling tangled or dry. Luckily, Kida's products including Milbon have multiple collections dedicate different hair types and needs. Satomi, my hair dresser is wonderful and my hair feels fresh at the end. Satomi is super friendly and always converses with me. Honestly, I swear by Kida and Milbon now as I have noticed significant improvement since I've started going to Kida! I would like to give a big thank you to the Kida staff!
This might literally be the best haircut I’ve ever gotten in my life. I was in pretty dire straits before coming here, my old barber left town and the shop they used to be at wasn’t able to cut my hair type (I have porcupine or "asian" hair) at all. I did a lot of digging and settled here and did not regret it. I scheduled with Sachi and for the first time since like, high school, I was genuinely happy with my cut. She was super meticulous, like CRAZY, to the point that she was fixing things that I always thought was just what hair was supposed to look like because I was so used to sub par cuts but she noticed them and made it gorgeous. A side fade cleanup took almost an hour and it wasn’t wasted time at all. She was just THAT good and THAT thorough. They’ve gotten a customer for life, easily.
I loved the experience here!! The Japanese hair stylist knows his stuff as he worked in this shop for 19 years!!! (Same one for 19 years) + he was very friendly 🙂 The vibe was good and pricing was also goo for the service I received 🥰 I got my hair cut for $47+ tip (15-18% tip) I would come again
Best barbershop/salon I’ve ever been to. I’ve been seeing Yohei and Shin for a few years now and have never felt more comfortable in the chair. Having traumatic experiences in the past, they made me feel easy, and best of all can make my difficult hair look amazing. Highly recommend for anyone
KIDA has been my go-to barbershop for the past 5+ years. Yohei is attentive and consistent, is a pleasure to speak with, and understands precisely what I want each time. The interior aesthetics is calming, full of lush greenery and hip vibes. The front desk is also extremely welcoming, occasionally even offering me pour-over coffee while I waited. I recently recommended a friend to Yohei, and he absolutely loved KIDA.
Unfortunately, I received a very rushed haircut from Sachi. I had asked for a fade/blend, but it didn’t resemble one at all. Despite showing reference pictures, the top wasn’t cut properly, lacked texture, and left me unable to style my hair as I usually do. A clean fade should really be a staple for an experienced barber, so I’m not sure what went wrong here. That said, the shop itself was nice and clean, which is why I added an extra star.
