I've followed Jean-Marie from salon to salon for about 7 years now. I'm so happy he's thriving in his own space! He's the only person who ever cut my hair so that it looked good naturally without any styling. Like, he's so much better than any other hairdresser I've tried. My friend had a phobia of stylists and felt she would always hate what other people did with her hair - I sent her to Jean-Marie when she was visiting and she loved it. Now she waits until she's in the Bay Area to get her hair cut!

Jean has an amazing personality. He takes his time and doesn't rush through appointments like most salons do in Bay Area. I'm satisfied with my haircut and I will absolutely go back. Glad I found him!! I agree with the other reviewers on his listening abilities. He understands your ideas well.

I had a very poor experience at this salon. The stylist soaked my neck during the wash and then later, when I politely mentioned that the blowout didn’t look good he yelled at me and said to ‘chill out’ . This kind of behavior is unacceptable and unprofessional.

I needed a last minute haircut before an upcoming trip, and Jean-Marie did an exellent job. I had long hair and needed a new fresh look, with some layers, showed him the photo and he did exactly what i wanted. Not to mention I was late to the appointment (missed my reminder), he was resposive and rescheduled for later in the evening. Thank you Jean-Marie!!!

Update: I have colored my hair at this salon a while ago. I have a very sensitive scalp and it appeared that the product used to color my hair doesn't work well for such a sensitive skin. It took a while for my scalp to recover. The color looked good though, so I've updated my review to 4 out of 5 (initially it was 3 out 5 due to the problem I described above). I kindly ask you to delete any of my photos, since I have not agreed to publish them. Thank you in advance.
