Always a great experience at Mai Hoa salon! I walked in and was greeted and attended right away. I wasn’t able to catch my stylist’s name 🥹 but the gentleman is a master in his art of hair styling!! He has cut my hair 3 times now and always does such an amazing job!! Three months ago I asked for a bob and it was fabulous. He mentioned that he’d like to try the wolf cut or a shag bob for next time. Suggesting that it might suit me better. I include this to say that he did a fabulous job at the bob (what I wanted) he delivered. So today I went in for him to work his magic and take his previous suggestion. We went with a wolf cut for this cut and he did such a great job!! Seeing him at work inspired my mom who has curly hair and is usually hesitant to get her hair cut too. She absolutely loved it.

I came here for a female haircut twice. The first time, I booked with the male hairstylist, his name is Nam, for simple layers. Terrible :))) It looked messy on my hair. The second time, I booked with Trang. She did better. For a layer haircut, it’s $50 + tip.

They ironed my hair while it was wet! My hair was already damaged they just made it more worse and it was my first time going there bad first expression of the place even the lady’s next to me told the lady that was doing my hair if that is normal to iron my hair while wet and she said yes!🙂‍↕️

Hands down my favorite hair salon. Not only are the prices reasonable, but they do a great job coloring and cutting my Asian hair. Be sure to make an appointment especially if you’re not just getting a hair cut. We’ve moved away from Minnesota, but I still come back here when we visit family to get my hair done. Trang is a wonderful stylist. Super attentive and easy to talk to.

I called this salon this morning and asked for a same day appointment because I had gotten my hair cut and colored at a different salon yesterday and the color was all wrong. They graciously accommodated and put me at ease. They listened to what I wanted ("bronde") coloring and assured me they could fix the bizarre job done by another salon. I was so impressed, they even had two people foiling and blow drying my hair. It’s definitely a no frills place, but they do a great job and I soooo appreciated them getting me the same day. Avoid Mai Hoa Salon AT ALL COSTS. Their cheap prices for Asian hair color are 1000% NOT worth the damage to your hair or the terrible experience. I used to go here for root touch-ups and highlights, but every session involved unnecessary multiple bleach and tone jobs because they couldn’t achieve the desired color on the first try. My last visit was a nightmare - What should’ve been less than 2 hours total turned into OVER 5 HOURS of botched highlights, repeated mistakes, careless application of getting hair color on my skin and clothes, and my hair being completely fried by the end. All while they kept bouncing around between multiple clients and losing track of bleach/hair color time, instead of focusing on one client at a time. The salon is also dirty, with unsanitary seating and gross used towels everywhere. Also have unprofessional staff who openly gossip about clients in Vietnamese. There is cut hair literally everywhere on the floors which they never clean up, they also tried to seat me in a dirty chair with piles of someone else’s cut hair 🤮 The last time after I was stuck here for 5 hours, they offered a "discounted" price but still charged me $10 more than what they said. This place is a total joke. They prioritize overbooking and quick profits over quality service. If you want to maintain the integrity of your hair and mental sanity, I’d highly recommend spending more and going elsewhere for better results. This place has zero integrity for their clients - Don’t let their cheap prices fool you.
