I recently visited Body Works Day Spa using a gift card I received, and unfortunately the experience was far below the standard I’m used to from professional massage therapy. I hate leaving bad reviews and after a week of thinking on it I still feel I need to share my experience. The setup of the spa was unusual, with services split between two separate storefronts, but the real issue was the massage itself. I booked a 60-minute session with hot stones, and this was by far the least effective and least relaxing massage I’ve ever received. The technique was inconsistent, with both hands moving rapidly, constantly in a race with the other hand, in a way that felt more like frantic stroking rather than therapeutic massage. Instead of completing one area at a time, the therapist would work only one side of a limb, then wait until after I turned over to do the other sides. Key areas such as my neck and shoulders were never addressed at all. The real breaking point was when she scratched me with her nail hard enough that I lifted off the table. She paused briefly, then went right back over the same spot with deep pressure, which was painful. At that point, I sat up and ended the session early with about 20 minutes still remaining. I left more tense and uncomfortable than when I arrived. I had hoped to enjoy a relaxing experience, but this session missed the mark on both technique and professionalism.

My cousin and I went for a complete spa day , massage was great , facial was nice , however when we got to the nail room there was not one technician there that knew how do do the job . My nails were painted and they were so thick with the old polish that within the time I sat there getting the so called pedicure they never dried instead just peeled off still wet so as she was doing my feet I ask for the remover to take it off . She was a sweet young lady but had no clue how to do that job properly . My feet are still as rough as they was when I went in . The polish she put on my feet done the very same thing so the mani and pedi was a complete waste of time and for the price completely ridiculous. I do think that they need more experience behind the job if indeed they want to charge the price that they do . I do not recommend this place for anything other than a massage .

I hired Emily for my wedding hair and makeup. Emily and the team at Body Works were very responsive and professional. Emily did a great job at listening to my vision. She made me and my mom feel comfortable while she was working, and we couldn't be happier with her work. I highly recommend Emily for your event.

Although I have never written a Google review in my life, I want to share my experience for other brides considering Body Works Salon and Day Spa. A few months before my hair & makeup trial, I was originally called and told my stylist, Emily Garbee Harris, had been double booked for both my trial and another client’s wedding. About 30 minutes later, they called back and confirmed the issue had been resolved. Fast forward a few months: I called a week before my trial to reconfirm. A gentleman answered, initially said my appointment was with Amanda, but after I corrected him, he confirmed that yes, my appointment was still with Emily. I felt reassured everything was set. Soon after, I was called and asked to move my trial from Friday to Saturday, which I agreed to. Then I was asked again to adjust the time slightly earlier, which I also agreed to. When I arrived (running a little late myself), I learned for the first time that Emily was actually on medical leave for six months. For context of the urgency, I am an October bride whose trial appointment was in September. I decided to continue with Amanda as my hairstylist and the contracted makeup artist. The makeup artist was absolutely wonderful—the highlight of the day. Unfortunately, the hair trial was disappointing: 1) Black bobby pins were used instead of copper ones to match my red hair 2) My hair was not curled until the end 3) The stylist did not know how to help my curls hold and expressed her concern they would fall out. 4) I was told not to part my hair down the middle (as I normally do) because of my cowlick, which limited the style I wanted 5) It took around 15 minutes for her to figure out how to start the braid. 6) When I inquired about extensions (for more fullness), I was told they could not do them 7) I brought clear inspiration photos, but the final result was not close. I’m sure Emily is very talented—she came highly recommended by my venue—but unfortunately, I never had the chance to work with her. My review is not against her personally nor the salon, but to inform other brides who may book within the next six months while she is on leave and may find themselves in a similar predicament due to poor communication.

Great service, very professional with a personal touch. Abby was so sweet and she is definitely gifted with the shears. I love the way she styled my hair after the cut.

My husband got me a package for my birthday, included a spa manicure, spa pedicure and a 55 minute full body massage. I was there a little longer than I fully planned but overall happy with the services, the whole staff was very friendly. The masseuse Rae was wonderful! I highly recommend going for a little treat to yourself!
