I’m in love with my new hair that their stylist Yuya cut for me. As a mother of two children, taking good care of my hair is extremely challenging and I knew my hair condition was not great. Yuya looked at my hair and instantly understood the condition. Within 40 mins, I had shorter and lighter new hair which suited me a lot better. Felt so fresh and happy when I left the salon. If you don’t know what you want but know your problems, that’s totally ok with Yuya. Just tell your problems, and he will fix that for you. Yuya is very experienced and friendly, and you will feel that he really cares about customers. It has been already 3 weeks but my hair is still in a good shape and easy to maintain.

I had a great experience with YUYA! The salon was incredibly clean and stylish, and it was easy to find street parking right in front. I arrived a little earlier than my appointment time, but YUYA welcomed me warmly, which I really appreciated. Before starting the haircut, YUYA took the time to carefully check what kind of style I wanted. He also considered my hair texture and current condition before cutting, which made me feel very confident in his skills. During and after the cut, he kindly explained how to style my hair to keep it looking great. Overall, it was such a pleasant experience — I’ll definitely be coming back!

I have short thick hair and it’s really hard to find someone who knows how to cut it the right way. Takeo at Roommate knows Asian hair very well. He took his time layering my hair, giving it the texture I needed to style it properly. I walked out extremely happy with the way it turned out. I also loved the minimalistic interior of the salon and I had no issues finding street parking. Definitely recommend checking Roommate out if you’re in need of a fresh cut!

Manson is one of the co-owners and he is not only talented and meticulous but also very warm and friendly. He explained my hair to me in a way I’ve never heard, teaching me how to apply oil and also the best way to blow dry it. Really thankful that I’ve found this place and look forward to being a regular for many years to come.

I got my haircut from Tokuhara-san, and it was the first time in LA that I was truly happy with my hairstyle! He didn’t just show Japanese-level skill — he really chose a style that fits me perfectly. My hair is thick and coarse, but he handled it beautifully. Highly recommend!
