My favorite place to get my ethnic hair done in LA. I've been a client of Clara's Josefina Erika and Janay since 2013. Even though I no longer live in Southern California, this is my go-to place to get my hair done every time I come here. I love you girls. Thank you so much 💓 to keep our hair beautiful healthy and natural, I recommend this place, special for natural (AFRO) hair.

Very fast service and she was able to squeeze me in last minute. I was in and out in less than what I expected. Sweet owner and great atmosphere and energy! Will be back soon 🙂 highly recommend

I had a very unpleasant experience at this salon today. When I called to ask if they accept walkins the person on the phone explained that her 9am was a no show and she had no other appointments so she was going home. She asked how long it would take me to get there. I told her 40 min. She said she would wait. When I arrived there were 2 stylists, a person under the dryer, and 2 other customers. A short while later a woman with 2 kids came in & another stylist. So much for closing up & going home. While getting my hair washed I was asked how I was enjoying it. I told her that she could apply more pressure (I love a good head scratching) & well we don'talways get what we ask for. Also, she barely conditioned my hair. The absolute kicker for me was when it came time to give me the tight curls I requested. Now keep in mind that I just watched this stylist give the woman before me beautiful tight, spiral curls. Just like the beautiful curls the person in the chair next to me (the customer who was under the dryer when I arrived) was getting. Just when the stylist started to curl my hair the woman with the 2 kids started making comments about having to leave for an appointment she has 40 min away. The stylist next to us (the woman I spoke to on the phone) tells the mother not to worry, that my stylist is going to be finished soon and get to the children. Oh really!!!! Like, how? Apparently by rushing because she proceeds to slap big, clunky curls in my hair, swirls the chair around and asks me how I like it. I don't!!!!!! Then they had the unmitigated nerve to charge me $145 and didn't even use a cape when they trimmed my ends. Hair all over my shirt. Welp, guess I'm still on the hunt for a good salon. (The picture is what my hair looked like when I returned home. I went straight home. It was only a 30 min drive. With the windows up.)

All i can say is WOW!! I am here on vacation, found this shop on google and called in. They accepted me right away for an immediate appointment 🙏🏾 From the phone call -upon arrival, everyone was extremely kind and professional!! CLARA IS A PURE GEM!! She was so welcoming and full of Love 💕 She started me right away and skillfully move around between clients effortlessly!! I watched the different stylists work together as a team and oh my how amazed i was at the teamwork and support , especially Clara checking on the different stylists and customers, all while serving her own clientele! I wish i lived here in California, i would be a frequent customer, just by her professionalism but most of all for her caring personality!! Thank you so much Clara, you are Amazing!!!

The experience was definitely memorable but this was the first wash n set and blowout that didn’t last me my normal three week let alone 3 days. There was one point where The owner, I believer was the only one there with like five customers and she was doing an okay job keeping up with all of us. However, it was still a long wait for certain things. The overall environment was nice and inviting. I left there looking gorgeous as Princess Lee. The same day, just a few hours later some frizz but I ignored it and kept it pushing three days later hair all frizzed up so I braided to just have a braid out look. My scalp was so badly burned that my scalp was already flaking. I had to give myself a long hot oil treatment after the fifth day. My overall take is it wasn’t worth how much I paid. I’m from New York and even they were cheaper for their service and they were very careful with their tools and clients. They didn’t book you to come in if they were already overbooked.

Passing through LA and really wanted my hair washed. They don't do walk ins so They made me an appointment for the next morning with whomever was available- Lucilia. It's an hour from where I am staying but I went anyway. It started out ok, fairly on time; granted I was lost because there are no signs. But when I inquired about the "deep conditioner" because I was afraid they were putting a keratin treatment on my hair which I haven't relaxed in years, they reassured me it was on deep condition from that particular line (salerm keratin shot deep treatment mask). Did a wash and set and when she started to flat iron we had a misunderstanding due to the language barrier and no one else in the shop was able to relay the issue properly. Another stylist finished up my flat ironing and 'bump' and it came out fine. Other than that, the place is a bit cramped so if you're claustrophobic you may want to steer clear. Pricing wasn't too bad.
