Touty's African Hair Braiding

Ms. Touty is exceptional. I was in search of a new stylist in Knoxville. I went to her on many different occasions and every time she exceeded my expectations. Her knowledge and dedication are unmatched. I love the fact that she doesn't engage with you unless you're open to it, and when she does, she makes you feel so comfortable. If I could give 10 stars, I would!!! I highly recommend her service.

I had the worst experience ever! It took around 9 hours to get my hair done the lady doing my hair would stop the take phone calls, and half way through a braid would stop to SCROLL on instagram!! She dealt with my head roughly not caring even when it hurt so bad I cried! And on top of all of that because of how tight she pulled on my head I have traction alopecia (which means I have hair loss, and sore/inflamed bumps on the side of my head.) wish I could give this place 0 stars!!!

My bestfriend got micros she asked for wavy hair they told her to do straight hair. My friend is a licensed braider and would never let a client walk out like this. We called today and she had a attitude basically saying to flat iron her hair. My friend doesnt put heat as she is natural...this was a waste of 150 dollars. She literally has a afro with strands of straight hair throughout her head. She cant wear her hair down.

I have been getting my hair done here, at Touty’s African Hair Braiding, for the past 20 years. I’ve had Micros, Senegal Twists, Kinky Twists, Box Braids, and a few other styles. I do not plan on going anywhere else to get my hair done. Reason being is because I don’t feel the need to. I have never had an issue with any of the services that were provided to me. Touty, as well as, the other stylists incorporate a variety of different hair styles. You ask about it….More than likely they can do it. The staff is very friendly and do an exceptional job on a daily basis. It provides services to people of all ages, ranging from a little kid to the elderly. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone. And I want to say "Thank you for all you do yto Touty and her Staff"

First of all it was very unprofessional they would talk very loud across the room and they would stop to take phone call. Also when trying to take a phone call you would have to go outside because of the loud talking. The worst thing of all I had my 10 yr old child there and the we’re watching a Netflix show with s*xual content even after noticing we were here. Last , you can see the reference photos and I told the lady do exactly that and they give my child this. Will not be coming back EVER!

I asked for Senegalese twist she braided my hair at the top and then twisted ... My hair is fine so I told the owner that I didn't want so much tension on my hair over the phone but they still did the opposite... And as I'm taking my hair out now my hair is locked so now I have to cut it when I ask for twist that is exactly what I wanted not braided ... And very unprofessional I honestly feel like hair braiders should not bring they kids to the shop with them the woman that was doing my hair child was touching my things all over me and she did not correct her child or tell her anything .... And I honestly should have not let her get in my head her lace front was terrible so what did I really expect ... I'm really angry and furious about my hair.... Charge me $240 for this bull crap just for me to be bald and my hair to be locked now I have to cut my pretty soft American hair off .... If you are an American please go to American hair braiding shops stay out of African braiding shops they are not for us plus they are too rough with your hair and get mad when you tell them about it.

I’ve been going to Touty’s for over 20 years. While I’ve tried other braiders in the past, I always end up returning to her salon. It’s consistently clean, and she always offers a wide variety of hair options to choose from.
