I see the negative comments on here about having to wear a mask and how expensive it is to get a haircut and I laugh at these people... First of all.... $11.99 is a steal for a haircut post COVID... I guess people don't realize that a mens haircut at a barbershop this close to downtown Houston nowadays costs at least $50 and you need an appointment.. these people have been at this location since at least 2001.. I remember when it was 2.99 haircuts... They do an amazing job with my hair and I'm assuming they also do an amazing job on black folks hair too because I always see a mixture of races coming in to get their hair cut.. the old asian man on the left when you walk in that proudly display American flags and has a handwriting sign that says he loves America is a sweet and engaging older gentleman that I always insist cut my hair... He is so happy all the time.. I'm always more than happy to tip him the difference out of the $20 I get from the ATM, because they only accept cash... So to all those people crying about how expensive it is and the mask... Maybe you need to re-evaluate your life. Because of $12 is too much to spend then maybe you just need to let your hair grow out and move to California and just go ahead and save your money for transition surgery..🤣

If the outside was an indication I would have kept going. However, my barber was a kind gentleman. He told me that I can learn from yesterday, live today, and hop for tomorrow. How obsidian that was!

They charged me $1.00 for a mask $7.00 for a hair cut I paid the guy at the register with a $10 and I got a dollar in change (should have got $2 back so that was the first thing, then I got home where I could see the haircut and now I'm going to have to go pay someone else to fix it . I don't generally do bad reviews but this is bad

It’s funny how I called the number that was posted on the website, and I asked what the charge for a lining is. The lady said $10 for a line and $25 for the line and facial cut, so I decided to go get the cut. I get there get the cut dude line me up and charge me $30 I could’ve hit the floor he never ask me if I want the clean up with full facial cut and edge up. I should’ve just waited on the lady I know next time bless his hands cause that’ll be the last $30 he’ll charge anybody

I have been going to Star for over 10 years now. No frills haircut but all thrills given the shady neighbors hanging out outside. Inside the barbers are all nice but some are novice and results will vary. I wait for my favorite, front chair past cashier, who does an excellent job every time. She is quick and easy. If you are looking for esthetic and pretentious, this is not the place for you. If you want a fast, clean, cheap, good haircut this is top choice. Even with tips, I spend 1/4 the price I would at any other place in Houston. $30 For a low ball fade haircut? I don't think so. Will continue to come every other week.

back to 201x like 14 or 15 years ago, I was there cuting my hair, when I was temprorially working at Houston downtown. it was 5 dollar indeed. not sure the nowdays price .
