MiO’s Designs Barbershop - Kalihi

I PAID $360 FOR GREEN HIGHLIGHTS. before i went in I had been growing out my hair which had been previously dyed a deep red, but then faded over time. Before we started I showed Miao and explained that I would like different tones, like caramel, honey, blonde. I didn’t want it all one shade, but as you can see in the pictures, she didn’t only NOT deliver but she botched my hair. I get it’s not the easiest to go from red to blonde or brown, but color theory would’ve worked I feel. And she should know that, being the owner of the store and been through hair school. NOT TO MENTION the patch of red/brown literally on the top of my head???? just shows how much they were playing in my hair. Towards the end of the dying process her and the other lady just started brushing the whole top of my head with dye and I think that’s where that spot is from. Miao tried to hide it by giving me a middle part (i’ve never in my 19 years of living worn a middle part) I obviously didn’t notice any of these mistakes until I was in the sun started playing with my hair. It honestly would not have been such a problem if they didn’t try to cover it up. Now I have to pay another $200 (SOMEWHERE ELSE) just to get it fixed to what I originally wanted.

Took my son for the second time here, he loves it. We got Nick both times. Best Barber, knows his stuff and will get everything done how you want it.

Mios is the BEST!!! I have been on island cor 6+ years & have had horrible experiences with other salons doing my coloring/highlights on island. I would have to wait to go back to NY to get my hair done at my salon back home. I came in with damaged, over-processed hair. Mios educated me on hair care & why it’s important to get treatments to prevent further damage after getting highlights/coloring. Highly recommend her if you’re skeptical like me! My nail technician referred me to her & I’m so grateful I gave her a chance. She’s got a warm & welcoming personality and a positive environment. Thank you Mios!!!! I found my salon!

Love this shop! MiO is so sweet and personable. She did an amazing job with my haircut. I have thick, wavy hair that usually gets butchered by other stylists, but she blended everything perfectly. I’ll definitely be coming back to her again!

First time coming here. Booked an appointment couple days prior. I got a mid crew cut skin fade which came with a wash. Also waxed my eyebrows. Everything came out great. Nick was super cool and the environment was great. Definitely will be coming back.
