Rachel Hurkett is the best hair stylist I have ever been to! She goes out of her way to explain the process of what she is going to my hair and actually listens to what I want! She is a perfectionist and makes sure that I leave the Salon happy!!! Which I always do! I recommend Rachel to all of my friends and family. And they love her too! If you want your hair to look amazing and perfect go with RACHEL!

Update after owners response: I find it very concerning that I’m being accused of lying by someone who has never met me, never seen my hair, and was not present during any of my appointments. My review reflects my personal experience. Dismissing it without firsthand knowledge only reinforces my concerns about professionalism. I took time before writing this review because I wanted to be fair and accurate. This review is specifically about Rachel, who works at Fuel Salon. I understand Fuel Salon rents booths and does not directly employ stylists, and everyone else I encountered there was kind and professional. This experience, however, was entirely with Rachel. I came to Rachel last summer after my hair I had received a bad cut by another hairdresser. I was extremely distressed, as my son’s wedding was scheduled for the end of April. Rachel assured me she could restore my hair and recommended K-tip extensions as the solution to help it grow. Based on her confidence, the salon receptionist’s recommendation, and her very high prices, I trusted her expertise and assumed she was properly trained and up to date. Unfortunately, that trust was misplaced. My hair has since been completely destroyed. I went in with 20-inch extensions and much longer hair, by the time they were removed two weeks ago, my extensions were ruined and cut down to about 9 inches. My natural hair suffered severe damage, including what has now been confirmed as a chemical burn. It appears my extensions were also damaged in an attempt to cover up the severity of the burn. During my last appointment, I was placed under a processing heat element that became so hot it was burning my scalp. I had to physically get up and find Rachel to tell her. Her response was to yell at her assistant to "pay attention," then return to cutting another client’s hair. She frequently books clients while she still is treating an client and does not give the level of care one would expect for the premium prices she charges. Her assistant is not responsible for her color work, and the situation was handled very unprofessionally. The damage to my hair has been devastating. My hair is still falling out, and the only way I can describe its texture is "crispy." When I reached out to Rachel about the damage, she lashed out, refused any refund or accountability, and claimed she had warned me this could happen. That is absolutely untrue. At no point did she say chemical burns or hair loss were a risk — she explicitly told me this process would help my hair grow. Since then, I have consulted a very prestigious salon in Houston, as well as my former high-end salon in Nashville. Both have confirmed, through in-person evaluation, photos, and phone consultations, that my hair was chemically burned. Despite this, Rachel continues to deny responsibility. This has cost me thousands of dollars in repairs, and when I attempted to discuss it further, she told me never to contact her again. I understand mistakes can happen, but this level of damage, lack of accountability, and disregard for a client is unacceptable. This experience has been emotionally and financially devastating, and I truly hope no one else has to go through what I’ve been through. I lived in Nashville previously and we are in Houston for a couple of months unexpectedly. The first picture shows the color and length of my sides and front when I came to Rachel. The last pictures are how I ended up after my last appointment with her 7 months later.

L is an artist, therapist, and comedian all in one - and her work is truly exceptional. Ask anyone who has been in her chair! A few years ago, I was terrified to color my hair - and now thanks to her guidance, we’ve graduated from roots & toners to balayage that looks hand-painted by the hair gods. She even made sure my cut and color were flawless for my wedding and would perfectly complement my updo. Every visit feels like hanging out with a best friend who just happens to make you look amazing. She’s simply the coolest and a true master of her craft!

Took a risk by making a same day, first time visit but it was SO worth it! Nice space, very clean and friendly. Great products, Angela was amazing. I gave her what I generally was looking for and she asked questions to make it perfect. I will definitely be back!

Forest is seriously the BEST!! She has great technique and impressive attention to detail, and I fully trust putting my hair in her hands. She clearly takes pride in her work and makes sure to get you looking your best. She takes time to learn what your hair goals are and how to achieve them, while also being an expert in knowing what is going to suit your hair type and face shape/features the best. She double checks before making chops/colors/changes, and it's obvious that she really cares about making you happy. Even when the salon and schedule are busy, when she's with you she is fully present and giving you the time that you need. I will never go to another stylist! I've referred all of my friends and family to her and they feel the same! Could not recommend enough 1000/10

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for Ashley O’Neil for a Blonde Specialist! I met Ashley O’Neil back in April when my blonde hair desperately needed some major TLC after being ruined by other stylists. Ashley took her time to truly listen to what I wanted and walked me through her entire process to get my hair back to where it needed to be. I’ve been seeing her ever since — and will continue to! She is hands down the best blonde specialist around.

Sarah is a talented stylist who cares about her clients, listens to them and encourages them to take risks. Sarah is amazing and I have been a loyal client and now friend for several years. I'm lucky to have her in my life!
