Legacy IV Cutting Lounge on May the 16th I ended my 9 year journey of growing my locs. I wasn’t going to write a review about this experience, I truly prayed about this because 1. I truly was upset and I didn’t want to just bash their establishment. 2. I figured I could talk with the owner Samuel, I believe that is his name (that’s what appeared on my phone when he called back anyway) from one professional barber to the next. 3. Because I didn’t want to place a blemish on his business for maybe having an off day because it was his birthday week and he was joining the 50 club. But unfortunately once I attempted to talk with him today I feel a review is warranted. When I called Samuel picks up the phone and says "legacy how can I help you?" I respond by saying hello this is Marsha and I received a haircut from the owner on the 16th of May and I was wanting to know if he was available to talk with me, he then responds "you need to book another appointment?" I say no but as he’s talking I believe this is the owner on the phone so I asked him may I ask who I am speaking with. He then says "what can I do for you?" (Wouldn’t give me his name). I said I needed a few minutes of the owners time to discuss the matter of my haircut. I then said if you are busy with a client right now then him or his wife could call me back whenever he was free to talk for a few. He tells me to text him my number and he would call me back. A few minutes later he text me and says how can we help u? I responded "to talk with yaw." So then a few more minutes pass and he calls me, but the call drops and I wait about a minute for him to call back but he doesn’t, so I call him back. He picks up the phone and he’s like how can I help you again. (Still refuses to give me his name)I started to talk with him and reminding him who I was and started to explain to him about how uneven my haircut was, but he cuts me off and tells me to hold for a second he needs to do something with his client. So when he turns his attention back to me I tell him this is why I said call me back when you had some free time because one of the reasons I feel you messed up on my haircut was because you had to stop every few minutes to answer your phone. And I need your undivided attention so that you can hear what I’m saying. He responds by saying, I heard what you said and he repeats what I said. Then he says so what can we do to correct what you say was a bad haircut? (Wow what I say is a bad haircut!)Because like you just stated you feel me being on the phone was apart of the problem and I do have a client in my chair that I’m trying to take care of. At this point I’m upset all over again. He was rushing me on the phone, he refuses to provide me his name, cut me off while talking with him and still was unprofessional about the whole situation because you’re basically letting me know my experience that I had with your business was irrelevant. I was in his chair by 9:30am and he was finished by 10:19 I cried once I got back to my truck because my hair was nothing like it was supposed to be. Then to add insult to the injury it’s not even. I walked out of his business $110.00 less than when I went in I bought two products plus tipped. $65 basically for a buzz cut. One side was an inch in a half while the other side was a little under an inch my haircut was lopsided, I have to keep it curly so people can’t tell just how uneven it is. After he did the first cut. I had to remind him I was wanting to maintain as much length as possible. Like we had discussed prior to the hair. I don’t do much with my hair but I walked around for months looking crazy so that I could have some length after I cut my locks off. My unloc hair covered my ears and went down to the bridge of my nose. My back hair covered my neck. When he finished cutting my locs, shampooing my hair, then supposedly cutting my hair even, l had a buzz cut. Once I realized that my hair was gone I said to him to just taper my neck, as you can see I’m rounded, and There are stray hairs everywhere. Not a good experience at all.

I walked in the lobby as I stared inside the shop. Samuel greeted me in front of the door and asked if I would like a cut. I was well overdue and said yes. As normal we got to talking, and one thing led to another. Well, that's when Samuel pulled out a coin! and asked me, What color do you see, and I didn't know if it was a trick or a joke? I said black, and he said white, and asked me again. What color do you see? Puzzled, I took a moment and said dark black, and round. Samuel said it's white, and asked me, if I was sure? That's when Samuel turn the coin on its side, and one half was white and the other half was black. Perspective; a good conversation. Maybe better than the cut?

A fantastic experience from start to finish. My man and I came by randomly after parking our truck at the Petro nearby, just for a line up for our edges. Sam is a true professional, with great business sense and conversation skills to boot. The world needs more quality barbers like him, offering haircuts to drivers and others alike.
