Pure Salon

I'm just going to leave this here... My stylist was going on leave just as my daughter's wedding was coming up so she suggested I see the owner of the salon for my apt just before the wedding and the next. My 2nd appointment with this stylist was scheduled for Wed Jan 6th at 9:30am. A little background info ... I'm 65 and had been supporting Pure Salon since moving to GR in '16...even continuing to make the drive every 6 wks from East Lansing the past 3yrs because I LOVE my stylist! On the morning of my 1/6 apt as I'm getting gas at 7:20 am the snow and wind was blowing so hard my only thought was "this is crazy". But I continued on... as I was SLIDING around the ramp to the I69 to I96W I again thought "This is crazy". White knuckling out to GR and not knowing how the weather would be on my way back for a hair apt was just that "CRAZY"! I called the salon as soon as I made it home leaving a message explaining why I was canceling. I received a call 3hrs later saying the owner could squeeze me in at 9:45 the next morning but if I couldn't make that appointment she would have to charge me 1/2 my apt fee... $75. I was already obligated that night to head an hour/20 the other way from EL to take care of my daughter's dog while they're on their honeymoon. I contemplate it ...and decided an already 3hr drive each way on bad roads was not going to happen. And good thing I didn't say yes... Plymouth was a blizzard all night into most of the next day! All verifiable. There's no way I could have made that trip. I'd like to live to see my grandchildren! I LOVE my hair apts and never like to cancel. TRUST. I was so blindsided by the narcissim that one would feel they deserve a cancelation fee of 1/2 their charge because a 10yr client didn't want to risk her life driving from East Lansing in a snow storm for an apt with them. No exceptions. It really breaks my heart but I can no longer bring myself to drive over an hour to continue to support a salon that didn't support me. So, if your stylist ever has to suggest you make an apt with this stylist... no matter how far you have to travel in rain, sleet, snow, tornado...by God you better be able to get there! 💔😢

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Taylor is incredible! Not only does she do a phenomenal job with my hair every single time, but she truly cares. She’s been doing my hair for the past two years, and thanks to her, it’s the healthiest it’s ever been. She listens, gives great advice, and always makes sure I leave the salon feeling confident and cared for. I couldn’t recommend her more! 💇‍♀️✨

Mary Claire is amazing with color and cut. My daughter’s blonde needed a boost after a Summer of swimming, and sun. Mary Claire lifted the roots, conditioned and cut to bring out her natural blonde color from her toddler years. This past week Mary Claire brought out the Autumn honey tones and created a natural glow that compliments the fall colors. My other daughter wanted a drastic change. Mary Claire took off about 6 inches of hair and created a long swinging bob that can easily be worn straight or curly. The cut is masterful and so easy to work with. I highly recommend Mary Claire to bring out the best in your natural color and hair type.

I cannot say enough good things about Britt H! She is incredible at what she does, from perfect color to the best cuts. I drive two hours just to get in her chair, and she makes the trip worth it every single time. She’s so kind and such a pleasure to talk to, highly recommend!

I have been going here for years and have had great experiences every time! It's always clean and the staff is very welcoming. Jenna is fantastic - I sit down and she knows exactly the cut I want and does an incredible job. She's also very personable and easy to engage with. My favorite part is that I'm in and out in 20 minutes without sacrificing quality. Highly recommend this place and specifically Jenna!

Alli F at Pure Salon is the only person I trust with my hair! She is so talented and skilled and I always leave feeling like my best self. She’s also so sweet and personable and always makes a 3 hour appointment fly by. 10000/10 recommend!

NEVER BOOK AT THIS SALON! I made an appointment to have my hair curled for an event. We had a family emergency so I called the day before at 3:54 to cancel an appointment the next day at 3:00 and they charged me $15.00 cancellation fee! The only way to reach them is to leave a voicemail, which I did….This is terrible business!!!! DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!
