Talking Hairs - Hair by Demi

I am so incredibly grateful I found you, Demi!!! I had gotten sick over Christmas and in the space of a week or so my hair became incredibly tangled and matted. Demi came to the rescue and handled everything so professionally and with empathy. I felt so vulnerable but Demi made the whole situation easier to handle. I ended up having to get it cut way shorter than I anticipated but I absolutely love it and my hair is just so happy!!! Thank you so much, Demi. You are amazing!!!!

I cannot recommend Demi enough. They are incredibly skilled, incredibly intuitive with understanding their client's needs, and provide an incredibly sensory friendly environment. They are also incredibly fair and straightforward with pricing. I struggled to find a regular stylist, and I am so grateful to have found Demi.

RUINED MY HAIR. I was really excited to support a queer and neurodivergent hair stylist in Denver but was so disappointed in the result. I asked for long shaggy layers and chocolate brown highlights. I let Demi know that I was getting married in 2 months and had spent the last 2 years growing my hair out for the wedding. I explicitly stated that I did not want to lose a lot of length. Demi gave me a horrible, choppy mullet with streaky yellow highlights that weren't evenly placed. I had to pay a different stylist to fix it, lost all the length on my hair, and have to spend more money on extensions for my wedding. Demi did give me a refund after the fact but reprimanded me for asking for the refund and not showing pictures at the salon. Demi did not ask to see reference photos on the day in the salon. I would not recommend.

Demi is absolutely fantastic. I got a full color service and short hair cut. I left feeling so seen and understood and love my hair more than I can even explain. I discovered Talking Hairs through a search for "queer haircut" and I was not disappointed!! My hair fits my needs and I feel so confident. The studio was quiet and clean. I deal with anxiety especially in new situations but Demi made me feel extremely comfortable. She asked about accommodations before the appointment and continued to check in with me through out the haircut and color service.. I will definitely be scheduling with Demi in the future!

I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the haircut and color I received from Demi!! Everything is exactly what I asked for! We did a really thorough consultation beforehand and I felt that Demi really listened and understood what I was asking for. I went to Demi specifically for their expertise in vivids and was not disappointed!

I have been seeing Demi for cut and color for about a year now, and they knock it out of the park every single time. I am not someone who enjoys going to appointments in general, but I look forward to time in Demi's chair. Their color work is fantastic, their cuts are fresh and compliment you, they listen to what you ask for and they deliver. I would be SO unhappy if I had to find a new stylist, and honestly I'm not convinced I would find one at all comparable. Outside their professionalism and skills, I also really enjoy chatting with Demi; they are a very cool, upstanding human and I appreciate that! Also their work space is very neurodivergent friendly and low-stress. I could not say enough positive things about them. Truly.

i have gone to demi a few times now and normally leave pleased with the work. the last haircut i received from them was very much the opposite. when i left the appointment my bangs were feeling a little short and uneven but i didn’t notice how uneven they were until getting home. there are chunks of hair missing from the bangs and there are parts that you can see my forehead through the hair which has never been the case and they were very jagged and not a all a straight across micro bang. i didn’t return to get it fixed because my bangs would’ve been far too short for me to feel comfortable with the cut. this is a disappointing review for me to make because i have had previous experience that were lovely, but this cut was pretty unacceptable
