I recently visited this place for a haircut and had a very disappointing experience. While the hairstylist was friendly and approachable, the razor used during the session was uncomfortable and seemed to irritate my skin. I didn’t want to address the issue on the spot, but the discomfort persisted, leaving a burning sensation even hours later. When I got home, I called and left a message explaining the issue and even attached photos of the irritation in their social account. However, it has now been around two weeks, and I have not received any response or acknowledgment from the salon. I expected better customer service and follow-up, especially when dealing with a concern like this. I’m sharing this in the hope that the salon improves its practices, both in terms of technical care during appointments and responsiveness to customer concerns.

Went in as a first time customer Saturday afternoon. Was told my stylist was running about five minutes late. About 20 minutes later. They said that it would be another 15 to 20 minutes. Waited for 40 minutes and then got told that she was not gonna make the appointment. Be honest and upfront about scheduling conflicts. Very disappointed. Wasted hour.

Easy to schedule online appointment. Place was clean. Saw a newer stylist, Kat. Kat did a very good job. Inquired about what I was looking for, asked styling question as she progressed. AI ended up with a very nice, well done layered cut.

Best haircut I’ve ever received. Stacy is my favorite as both times I’ve had her as my stylist she has not only spent extra time attending to details compared to what I’ve experienced from other salons, but also educates me on my hair type for management and future visits. She’s also very kind! Couldn’t recommend more.

Stacy is truly a professional! She knew exactly what would look good on me, and she went to work, making me look good. I got the best haircut and beard trim since moving to St. Louis 5 years ago! I've continued having Stacy cut and trim, and she's still the best! Thank you, Stacy, for your consistent quality work!

I genuinely wish that this message reaches the management team for the Creve Coeur location. I definitely have a noteworthy complaint about my services today. I have been going to this location for well over two years now and I have relatively never had a major issue in all of my services, which have been at least somewhat positive. I tend to be open minded and be willing to try whoever is available, but I unfortunately was serviced by Nailah today. Because of my experience, I am no longer wishing to ever come back for a haircut through this business. Over the last six or so months, each time I’ve been to this location, there has been at least one if not several new employees. I do believe that they may rotate between this location in the Chesterfield location, but in my 2+ years of coming here, the ones I’ve seen in the past six months I’ve never seen before. It not only tells me that either the retention is poor, maybe the environment is poor, or some other underlying cause to continuously have new employees. Back to my situation today, Nailah initially brought me back and checked to see if I would like to continue with my shorter haircut choice, which I regretfully agreed to. After this moment, she did not speak a single word the entire time of the service and it was not only painfully awkward, but she continuously showed terrible performance, and I was truly embarrassed to walk out of that building today. On multiple occasions in the beginning, she tried to go with the shortest trimmer setting for the back of my hair, which led to her trimmer getting locked up and pulling my hair. Granted, I did have longer hair today, but it has been the similar length multiple times in the past, and I have never had any issues, and although I would like to get my haircut more frequently to prevent this, I do work in the surgery field and that is something that I truly cannot help and I cannot apologize for. After three or four times of the attempting the trimmer and it locking up and no longer functioning, she proceeded to use the trimmer on her own arm hair to see if it was working, only to go back and try again on my hair. If that wasn’t alarming enough, she had to stop the service not once, not twice, not three or four times, but FIVE TIMES to walk to the neighboring workstation and deliberately SPIT IN THE SINK to then proceed and come back to where I was. Furthermore, on several occasions, I could feel her quite literally coughing in my hair to the point where I was truly stunned, and I was getting very frustrated. The haircut alone was embarrassing to say the very least, in which immediately upon leaving the building I had to call around to a local barber to see if this could be repaired, making this even more embarrassing given how close we are to the holiday season and how poor of a experience I had at this location. I will not be coming back and I am genuinely disgusted and disappointed in 18-8 for my service today. For the price they charge for a haircut, you’d expect at least the most minimalistic professionalism in the workspace, and maybe to have an employee who actually speaks to the customers and can portray even the most minute mannerisms. It was very hard to leave a tip today and if I could rate it 0 stars, I absolutely would.
