I've been seeing Emma at Jon Richard Salon in Cranston for the past year but have followed her from different salons for almost 4 years! She’s a color goddess and expert! I came to her initially for a better haircut (which she totally delivered on) and since then I’ve had her cutting and coloring my hair, most recently transforming my hair into a beautiful and dimensional balayage (twice this year). I have long hair down to my mid to lower back so if you’ve got a ton of hair and are thinking you can’t afford to go that often, she’s VERY reasonably priced for the high quality of service that you’re getting. Additionally, if you can’t go that often or feel like you can’t keep up with high maintenance coloring and want the benefits of the balayage, Emma will give you the best solution so that your hair will look stunning even as it grows out. I got compliments on a 3 month old color this summer! She always listens to what I want and explains the process but will NEVER let you talk yourself into a haircut that will be unflattering. The salon itself is clean and welcoming, and I always leave feeling 1000x better about myself and taken care of. I always get compliments on the color that she does. On 6/4/25 Nicholas performed a hair miracle on me! After my long time hairdresser passed away and also having my first child, it took me over a year to muster the courage to find a new hairdresser. I conducted endless research of reading reviews, and looking at photos and then I stumbled upon some of the work that Nicholas has done and I made an appointment! I walked into the bright and airy chic salon and was greeted with a friendly warm and welcoming face that belonged to Nicholas! My hair was hidden under an old baseball cap as it was absolutely atrocious; a complete abomination. My highlights had grown out over 9 inches and my dark roots were taking over my entire head, my ends were split, sparse, and straggly and I felt like I didn’t know who I was anymore when I looked in the mirror. After a few hours in Nicholas’ chair, he twirled me around to look into the mirror and my eyes immediately started to well up; I saw a person who I hadn’t seen in over a year! Nicholas is a true artist of his craft and his passion for beautifying all who have the great honor to sit in his chair radiates and shines into the work that he does. Nicholas, you have yourself a new and loyal customer- hope you’re okay with that! Lol… Thank you so deeply much for bringing me back to life!!!

I’ve been a client for several years, but unfortunately I won’t be returning. I had to rebook because my previous stylist no longer works there, and when I called to ask for a recommendation, the receptionist suggested Emma. I booked with Emma and came prepared with realistic, inspiring photos of the exact balayage look I wanted. The technique she used was extremely different from anything I’ve experienced before, using saran wrap instead of the classic teasing or sectioning method I’m used to seeing and applying bleach in large unblended patches on each hair strand. The service also felt very rushed, which made the overall experience stressful instead of enjoyable. During the wash, brushing, and blow drying, I found her to be unnecessarily rough. The washing and brushing were much too harsh for my liking, and she tugged through my hair in a way that made me uncomfortable, not the relaxing salon experience I’ve always had in the past. When the results came out, it honestly looked like a blob of bleach dyed hair was slapped on my head. There was zero blend or transition, just harsh uneven patches. She gave me her personal number afterward and invited me to return so she could "fix it." I did go back, hoping for a correction. She then used foils to add lowlights and highlights, the method I normally receive every single time, which did improve parts of it, but this time my roots were very orange. The final result was still nothing like the photos I originally showed. I’ve been getting my hair professionally done for many, many years, and I’ve honestly never had an issue like this before. That’s why this was so heartbreaking for me. I really wish there had been more honesty and transparency upfront if achieving the look I wanted was unlikely. Clear communication would have saved both time and disappointment. It’s such an unfortunate situation. I know the salon strives for quality, but this particular experience left me feeling unheard, rushed, and deeply disappointed.

This salon is clean, well decorated, everybody here is nice. I showed Tianna a picture and she nailed exactly what I wanted on my hair. I absolutely am obsessed with how it came out and I will be back!

Had my 1st ever lash lift & tint with Megan! She gave my lashes the perfect shape 🙂 I am more than happy and will be booking again in the future! I saw pics from other esthetician results and people’s eyes looked red afterward but I had absolutely none of that with mine. So totally happy!

Absolutely loved how BEAUTIFUL my hair turned out by the stylist Nicholas! Nicholas did such an incredible job at making me feel comfortable and was very sweet and welcoming , I knew I was in good hands! 🙌🏻 Everyone was so sweet and very welcoming, left feeling incredibly confident, happy and satisfied with the entire experience! Recommend Nicholas 100%!
