African Hair Braiding by Tashia

My regular braider was no longer available to do my micro braids. I searched online and found Tashia. I contacted her 4 weeks in advance. I scheduled appointments to do a take down of the braids I had and a second appointment to redo my micros. I reached back out 2 weeks before the appointments and she wanted a deposit to hold the time to redo the micros - which I paid, no problem. I came on time for my take down and she had taken another customer. She could only take down a few of my braids by the time she finished the other customer. For the next 3 days she either would not respond to my texts or make then cancel appointments. I had to find someone else. She kept not only my deposit but also the money for the take down that was never done. She will tell you that any bad online reviews were not her fault. This experience was definitely her fault. Be very careful if you deal with this shop.

I'm a repeat customer. I got knottless box braids in July and just recently took them down. On my initial visit Tashia asked about the look I was trying to achieve. She examined my hair and educated me on the size and length of braid that would protect my edges (which I greatly appreciated). She did a sample braid and price was stated up front. In the past with other braided styles including knottless my head would ache and the first few days would be awful. This is not the case with Tashia, she is gentle and I experienced very little if any discomfort on the day of and following install. I'm pleased to say that I was still getting compliments on week 8 with several people questioning why I wasn't going to keep them longer. Minimal shedding and breakage occurred when I took them down (edges intact). I'm a return customer and just had my second appointment with Tashia yesterday. I've found my braider!!!

Called to get a quote for knotless braids as the website doesn’t list the actual rate but says $200 and up which was red flag #2 I was told that she doesn’t gu e prices by phone which is red flag #2 it makes me feel as if she is picking and choosing who she’s charge what . However what really sealed the deal for me is her response to lower ratings alone . Not only is she defensive she’s down right rude and argumentative not accepting any responsibility for why the customer was upset with her services.even went as far as telling a customer who stated her hair was heat damaged and her scalp was bleeding after hot comb was used on her head with out heat protectant. The response the customer received was she ought to be "lucky" she wasn’t charged more than she was. No accountability what so ever just blaming I encourage you all to read the lower rated reviews before booking so far there’s been claims of over pricing being late to appointments using other peoples pictures on her website that is NOT HER WORK and even just straight up not showing up for appointments. How incredibly unprofessional. Not to mention the work that has been posted in the reviews looks like the work of a beginner Braider and looks nowhere near $200+ work that you see with seasoned braiders . I’m so happy I too the time to read the reviews I feel I dodged a bullet

Tashia came In to help me out on a day, she doesn’t usually open so I could be prepared for my game show audition the next morning. Her work is neat and fast. She even had the specific and unusual color that I wanted. I love the fact that Tashia is a worshiper. She is kind, professional, and a new friend for life.

I absolutely loved my bohemian braids! They came out even better than I imagined. The whole experience was great, and I’ll definitely be coming back again. Highly recommend if you’re looking for gorgeous braids!

I visited Tashia’s shop today to have my knotless braids done. When I originally called her I explained that I had never had braids before and she shared great tips and valuable information with me regarding my hair. She was very patient, as I was trying to figure out what hair color I wanted etc. I had a very tight timeframe and Tashia and the other braiders accommodated me and made sure I was done in record time and my hair is beautiful. I feel no pain or discomfort whatsoever and I am able to style it in different ways same day. Everyone was nice and friendly and the atmosphere was very relaxing and peaceful. I will definitely be a repeat client.

My hair was braided nicely. What I disliked is I asked Tashia not to cut my hair after braiding and she did anyway . AlsoI asked for the price of medium boxed braids over the phone and she told me she don’t give prices over the phone. She charged me a fortune 🤬MAKE SURE YOU GET THE PRICE 1ST BEFORE LETTING HER DO YOUR HAIR. FACTS 💯💯💯
