This place is an absolute Gem! I have been a client here for a few years and my 21-year daughter too on the few occasions she gets her hair done professionally. Lena is usually my stylist. She always takes time to make sure my hair is styled as perfectly as possible and takes a genuine interest in myself and my family. Also - the price is extremely reasonable - especially for Old Town / Lincoln Park area. It is easy to get an appointment as she will try to accommodate you if at all possible (they are of course busy as any high-quality salon should be - so sometimes not possible - but they always try!). Highly recommended.

Donna was recommended to me and I booked an appointment for highlights. Not only was she extremely rude, but her coloring was uneven and looked bad. When she washed my hair the water went down my back and soaked my shirt. The bleach from the hair dye ruined my shirt. My hair was brushed so roughly that my head was rocking back and forth and I could see and hear it ripping out. I had an awful, awful experience here. The next week I had to get my hair redone at a different salon. Needless to say I will not be returning.

This salon is the best!! Was in town for vacation and they got me in for a hair color. Had the color line. Lena is so nice and did a great job on my hair. Thank you to Mel for washing and styling my hair. Will be back whenever in Chicago!! Thank you ladies again 😊

Donna is hands down one of the BEST HAIRSTYLISTS IN CHICAGO! I’m never going anywhere else. She is absolutely amazing with color and she does a wonderful job with haircuts as well.

Lina is the best! I like natural highlights that grow out easily. She gives excellent advice to help maintain the look and she is great with kids. The shop is beautiful and the service is consistently exceptional.

Been going here for, I know Lena would know, long time. 20 yrs maybe. She remembers all my cuts and my family Amazing woman. These ladies are the only ones that know how to cut my hair.

Since 2012, no one has touched my hair. Lina, Bona, and the whole team at Art of Hair Design are incredibly talented. The passion for their craft is felt in every visit. Despite living overseas, I just can’t trust anyone else for cut, color, brows, styling, etc. Beyond being best in class and incredibly creative, they are super well connected in the community and have, in countless occasions, made great referrals.
