Charles Dunton did such an amazing job and greatly exceeded my expectations! He gave me a wonderful cut, which enhanced my wavy hair as well as providing exceptional education. I had no idea that my wavy hair could look so good! He was able to answer all of my questions in a way that was easily understandable, told me all the products needed to achieve the beautiful look, showed me how to use them, and modeled the exact steps for my new Curly Girl routine. He made the process simple and maintainable, which is something I've struggled with in the past. He was also able to keep length, which I wanted. I got so many compliments and will never go anywhere else! It is definitely worth the price and I highly recommend this salon to anyone with a waves/curls. WOW, I was absolutely blown away by this salon. Melissa and her team were incredible in teaching me how to care for and style my wavy/curly hair at home. During my cut, she recommended a toning treatment, which really helped shift the brassy tones out of my ends. The entire experience was wonderful — I can’t wait to try some techniques at home and come back in a few months!

The salon itself is absolutely gorgeous. Truly. It’s one of the most beautiful, calming spaces I’ve ever walked into—clean lines, moody tones, and such a chill, peaceful vibe. Everyone was warm and welcoming, and for a moment I really felt like I was giving myself the self-care I’ve been needing. This was my first time with Quincy. He’s polished, warm, and a genuinely great conversationalist. I really enjoyed talking with him, and he took time to explain the products and what he was using. That part felt thoughtful and attentive, and I appreciated it. But emotionally, where things broke down for me was the actual consultation. I don’t feel like there was a moment where we truly connected on what I wanted. Once he started cutting, he didn’t pause to check in, confirm the length, or make sure the shape matched what I described. I wish so deeply that there had been more communication before and during, because this haircut mattered to me. I haven’t had a real haircut in about a year. I’ve been struggling with my weight and finally started losing some. I’ve poured everything into my kids and family for so long, and this was supposed to be something just for me—a little moment of feeling pretty again, especially with family pictures coming up on Sunday. I knew I needed 7–10 inches cut, but that should have still left my hair past my shoulders. I was so clear that I didn’t want bangs, needed to be able to pull it back, and absolutely didn’t want anything mullet-like. Instead, I walked out with extremely short, round layers everywhere—an older-style mullet that ages me so much. I looked in the mirror and felt my heart drop. I feel butchered. I feel ugly. And I’m devastated that something meant to lift me up has left me in tears. I canceled our family photos because I just couldn’t imagine documenting myself like this. The salon is stunning. Quincy has wonderful qualities. But the lack of consultation and understanding of what I wanted completely changed what this experience was supposed to be. I wanted to love my haircut—I needed that. Instead, I’ve been crying since I left.

I went to More Than Curly Salon a week ago and had an amazing experience with Moe! She’s incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to explain how to properly care for my curls. My hair felt so soft, healthy, and defined afterward. Everyone at the salon was also so kind and welcoming, it made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend Moe if you want expert curly hair care in a warm and friendly environment!

I don't even know where to start I don't even know how to explain how incredibly happy myself and my daughters were to come and see Charles at More Than Curly Salon and even though everything with More Than Curly and Charles was flawless, my girl's sort of messed it up in the beginning by mistake and I thought this was never gonna work due to our error. However thanks to charles and more than curly and his team, they made it alright and they didn't have to. it has turned out to be the beginning of a beautiful friendship. so an issue. on our end was big sister tried to surprise little sister (these are my daughters) and schedule little sister to get a curly cut and style a pretty big chop and make sure we want somewhere that did a great job but also was able to teach her how to do her hair properly that was the plan, the girls were organizing it themselves.It was a christmas gift to my fifteen year old by my twenty year old, I stayed out of it since they were so excited to do this on their own. So big sister booked the appointment for little sister. Everything was good to go until the day of the original appointments. big sister had an issue. We had an emergency with little sister and neither one of them wanted to call more than curly or charles because they were so embarrassed. I called and explained what was going on now, Charles could have said, sorry we don't have to see you or to be honest, rebook you, but I never got that attitude, Frustration or anything from charles. I explained what was going on and that I was trying to let the girls do it without me and now they're both in tears. Of course it was right before Christmas and I know he was jam-packed But he was hearing my story he was feeling the love between the girls and he was really trying to help me out as a mom and that's exactly what he did. so I went ahead and rebooked and he got us in surprisingly quick. I was able to text him what my daughter's hair. Look like and inspiration pictures and He was ready for us when We got there. it's been about 2 weeks now and I just cannot even tell begin to tell you how incredible the experience was and that this will be our forever home. my daughter's hair is a 2b/2c she is 15 and we were looking for a lot of help. Education and awareness as well as follow-up and a place that we can come back to and reference in the future and feel comfortable and confident. Since this is a whole new thing for all of us but most importantly my daughter. I did not know that cutting her hair the way I had been for all these years was not normal for her and her hair type and how important it was to embrace her curls. A curly cut made all the difference.Well, throw that in with the fact that this fifteen year old wanted to go from long hair that we did not manage the curls Very well, we just didn't know how two now She wants a Pixie cut on top of it. I'm not gonna lie I was very nervous. But this is where Charles and his team came in in the clutch. We sent inspiration pictures, We sent pictures of my daughter at a time. And we spent hours while charles really took the time to spend with us. He immediately started her on a hair treatment, a hair wash 1 on 1 time where he just talked to my daughter. 1 on 1 time where he talked to me and how I can help her. He taught her how to style it different styles, where to go for more reference on his website, and that we can call him anytime If we need help. either way hands down, I recommend these guys up-and-down, especially charles, but his team was helpful too.They treated us like they'd known us forever. I'll try to put in some Before & After pictures. But you have to believe me, this is the place to go. They're amazing. They're experts in their profession, personable, they have great customer service. You're not just a number to them. You're not just a booking or a deposit. You will be so pleasantly surprised if you decide to go here. And Charles, and everyone at more than curly thank you. You did not have to give us the chance and the time that you did, we'll see you in a couple months.

Moe absolutely nailed it. I was so nervous coming in because I have trust issues with my hair. I’ve cut my own hair for the last year because I’ve yet to find a salon that makes me want to come back, but More Than Curly changed that mindset. Moe immediately made me feel at ease and explained everything she was doing during the wash and the cut. She walked me through styling, even down to how much product to use on specific sections of my hair. I walked out with my hair feeling healthier and my curls looking like I used a wand! Excited to love my natural hair again (:

I moved away from the area a few years ago and I still haven't found a salon or stylist as good as this team. They're so attentive and really do know how to do curls of any type. I have 3c/2a curls and every time I left an appointment my hair looked the best it's ever looked before. I very much miss the service and wish I could go to them forever!
