I wasn’t going to leave this review, but after what happened, I have to. It was my birthday weekend. My husband booked me a 12 PM silk press here and was told I would receive a discount because she couldn’t originally take the appointment. I arrived on time and she was already working on someone else. Fine. But while walking to the wash chair I overheard her whisper that "everyone is showing up at the same time," which was strange since I was told to come at 12. She immediately said my hair was "matted." My hair was wet from the shower. I have been getting silk presses for almost 6 years and no stylist has ever described my hair that way. She washed my hair, put me under the dryer with no conditioner, and left me multiple times to perm, wash, and color other clients. When it was time to detangle, she sprayed something in my hair and aggressively pulled through it with no conditioner, then blamed my "matted" hair. After hours in the salon, she put me under the dryer again. My hair dried completely. She then blow dried my already dry hair with a brush blow dryer. Six hours later, another stylist had to step in to finish. The discount my husband was told about never happened. Instead, she charged me an extra 25 dollars. The next morning my silk press was stiff, dry, not silky, and smelled burnt. My husband reached out to let her know I was upset. Instead of taking accountability, she blamed my hair, offered some other service, and then tried to explain to me how to manage a silk press after she had already messed my hair up.ive been managing my silk press for over 5 years so stop playing with me and no I do not use sulfate shampoo which is something else she tried to tell my husband that I probably used that might’ve messed up my hair I dont care if my hair was tangled. That does not justify overbooking, aggressive detangling, burning someone’s hair, and overcharging them. I do not usually leave reviews. But I do not play about my hair. Straight played in my head and then had the audacity to overcharge and tell me it was because my hair was matted .. never has any stylist who knows how to silk press put me under a dryer TWICE .. your customer service is terrible and you lied . You’re a money hungry jealous woman who intentionally butchered my hair and then lied about it and I still tipped which was mainly for the stylist who tried to save my hair . I really didn’t cause a scene because I’m respectful and didn’t wanna embarrass her and there were also some very nice women in the salon so I didn’t want to cause a scene and stress them out . But this lady truly pissed me off . I have never been this upset after getting my hair done . I would not recommend going here for a silk press if you do hopefully she knows how to do it by then .
It was not done properly. You damaged my hair , you took no accountability.. read the whole review before responding . Because while you were doing my hair I kept asking you why are you not doing it this way or that way and you ignored me and kept blow drying and pulling my scalp while it was dry. . I didn't want to curse you out or embarrass you in the salon because it was full of women and I know how to conduct myself properly but you knew you messed it up . Another reason I didn’t curse you out was because your other stylist stepped in which is why it even came out close to presentable . I know very much how to care for a silk press , you absolutely do not know how to give one and you’re money hungry . you never put anyone under a dryer for a silk press..go back to school to learn how to do hair . I already see the type of woman you are so have a good day !
Hermie was nice and took her time doing my keratin treatment. She clipped my ends, styled my hair, and charged me a reasonable price. I hate feeling nickeled and dimed, so that was big for me. Hermie even sent me home with a nice diced complimentary shampoo and conditioner sample set.
Had a wonderful experience at Hermie. I haven’t been taking care of my hair lately and haven’t wore my natural hair out in years. Due to breakage and split ends I thought I would have to do the big chop. When I Went to a Hermie, she told there was not need for the chop ( so glad because I really wasn’t ready for it) she did a treatment and gave me a silk press and I’m so happy how it turned out.
DO NOT BOOK. I went in for a silk press and it was the worst experience I’ve ever had. From the start, her wash and condition routine was rushed and sloppy. She didn’t section my hair properly or take the time to do it right. I told her I wanted to leave because I could already tell the service was going to be rushed and careless. She insisted I stay, and as soon as I sat down, she rushed through blow drying. My hair was still damp, especially at the roots, and I had to keep telling her that. She ignored me and kept going with the flatiron — on wet hair. My hair was literally sizzling under the heat. Then she had the nerve to plug in a hot comb after flat ironing my hair! My 4C hair has never needed that much heat, and I told her that. I got up and left before she could touch me with that hot comb. My hair reeked of burnt heat tools. I washed it the same night, and now it’s completely straight and damaged. When I told her she damaged my hair, she took no accountability and blamed me. But the proof is in the pudding. Her method is careless and negligent.
Hermie has a lot of knowledge about hair and did a great job dying my virgin 4c hair! I am very pleased with the results. She was also happy to answer my (many) hair questions before the appointment, which I appreciated.
I went in for a silk press, and I left feeling like a whole new person! Hermie was incredibly sweet, welcoming, and excited to work with me from the start. She took her time making sure my hair came out just right, and I could tell she genuinely cared about giving me the look I wanted. She even recommended a keratin treatment for the long-term health of my hair and was full of helpful advice and energy. I appreciated how passionate and determined she was to make sure I loved the end result. My hair came out soft, shiny, and full of movement—she really brought it to life! She also shaped it a bit with some trimming, and I actually love the fresh look it gave me. The appointment ran a little long, but it was clear she wanted to get it right, and for that I’m thankful. I’m the next Marilyn Monroe😇!!!!!!!! Don’t let the bad reviews stop you—Hermie is talented, kind, and truly committed to her clients. I’ll definitely be coming back!
