Mariam Hair Braiding and Weaving

I drove three hours from Pennsylvania to Mariam in New York to get my two teenagers hair done for their first day of school. First Mariam kept changing the prices around. Then they said my son’s hair was matted so they started him some new dreads but did not twist the dreads down to the end. Then had the nerve to tell me I can come back Monday and they will fix it. Remind you I stay in Pennsylvania so you are offering for me to drive three hours again for you to fix a style that was supposed to be done correctly in the first place. Then my daughter got braids and due to it being night time I didn’t see her hair good until we made it home. My daughter braids are a mess too. She got knotless braids and you can tell where the hair was added on each braid. They provided poor quality services and I would not recommend anyone to their place of business ever. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!!!

My experience was terrible. First of all, I arrived on time for my appointment and the hair dresser, Lili was a half hour to 45 mins late. Lili didn't apologize for her tardiness and ranted that she was hungry. I came to the salon for a wig installation. Lili stated that I did not need to redo 2 week old box braids. She partially sewed the wig on, added someone makeup and freeze spray then told me I was done. I got out the chair with the fabric piece in the front still showing and my edges were a mess. She told me that was normal . I left feeling uncomfortable. I returned and a customer had to instruct Lili on how to properly fix the edges. The following morning, my wig was half way off my head. I had a flight in a few hours. I had to do my own thing. This was my first experience with a sew in wig and I did not know what to do. I wasted money thinking that I would get a decent wig installation and did not. It was a very unprofessional experience. She did not know how to provide the service I requested. This experience almost ruined my vacation. This is fair warning ⚠️ do not go to Lili for a wig installation.

Very poor customer service. Braider seemed upset about doing my hair… Needed two braids and she could not execute it. After 3 tries, I just had her take it down. If you can’t get the owner to do your hair, pass this salon by.

Hono was amazing!!! Got in super late and she still allowed me to enter and get my hair braided! 10/10 recommended ! Will be coming back here everytime I’m in the city!

I didnt have cash on me and they were kind enough to let me run back to the hotel...great people

The work was okay (6/10), but the service was terrible. The salon was messy, and the overall environment didn’t feel welcoming. No matter how polite I was or how much I tried to communicate, the woman doing my hair had a cold, dismissive attitude ; it honestly felt like she didn’t want to do my hair at all. People go to salons to feel good, not to sit in an uncomfortable, broken chair and be treated poorly by staff who act like they don’t want to be there. On top of that, it felt like they were talking about me in another language, which only added to the discomfort. I could have recommended this place to so many people. Your loss!

Their Terrible ! Over priced and they don’t do good job ! Show them a picture they do something completely different! At this point in time who can’t do lemonade braids ! Them they can’t beware !!
