Olivia is amazing hair stylist I won't take my daughters any where else

I can’t believe I’ve waited so long to write this review. I think it’s because it’s taken me that long to almost fully recover from my experience here. I can’t recall the name of the stylist I went to here in March 2022, but honestly that shouldn’t even matter — any salon that would allow that stylist to wield scissors should be avoided like the plague. I have very thick hair, which I’ve always kept to about mid-chest length. I’ve also had an undercut for several years, which helps take some of the bulk out of my hair and makes it more manageable. I came into the salon asking for it to be cut to fall just below my collarbone, clean up the undercut, and add some soft layers. This was my first time at this salon. Way past mid-haircut, the stylist said, and I quote verbatim, because I will NEVER forget it: "I’m going to need to rethink this plan." She had already done the undercut but taken it WAY too high up my neck/back of my head, removing way too much thickness, already cut the length, and already started the layers. Bottom line: she had removed way too much of the thickness with the aggressive undercut to accommodate the layers she’d done. As a result, we had no choice but to take the cut shorter, to above shoulder length, as the longest layers were just way too thin. I’ve been told by every stylist I’ve ever been to that I have some of the thickest hair they’ve ever seen. I walked out of the salon with hair so thin you could see my neck through it. I was absolutely mortified. I ended up wearing hats all spring and summer — and I’m not even a hat person (I legit had to buy 3 hats because of this haircut). It wouldn’t be an overstatement to say that this haircut crushed my self-esteem for quite a while. I felt absolutely horrible about my appearance. It’s taken 1 1/2 years of growing my hair out and multiple visits to another salon to finally *almost* recover from this haircut. I’m glad others have had such great experiences here. Not sure why mine was so different — maybe the stylist was having an off day. If you’re OK with rolling the dice with your hair, I’d say give this place a chance. If you’re not willing to take the chance that you’ll get the worst haircut of your life, I’d advise you to steer clear.

About every other week, someone stops me in the street to ask where I get my hair cut. I am always delighted to tell them about the amazing Olivia, who has been styling my hair for the past 6 years. I have loved *every* single cut & color she's given me! (She's great at eyebrow-shaping, too -- nice and natural.) In addition to being a super-talented stylist, Olivia's a lovely, warm person and great to talk with. Always a fantastic experience.

This review is long overdue. If I could give Olivia 10 stars, I would! I moved to Colorado 2.5 years ago and she has been the only hair stylist I have trusted with my hair since. She is genuine and incredibly talented <3 I came to Olivia with a major color correction need and she exceeded my expectations. She has transformed the health and color of my hair in the most beautiful way. She is an absolute color scientist! What sets Olivia apart is that she won't compromise your hair for a color. She is honest and always on the side of maintaining the integrity of your hair. She is warm and welcoming and I always leave her chair feeling beautiful. If you're looking for an expert in hair, Olivia is your gal. I can't say enough good things about her work and her character <3

Olivia is thee most talented stylist I’ve ever experienced. Bring the pic of the cut you desire. Done. Color you love? She will make it match your personal skin tone. So many styles & colors I’ve enjoyed with Olivia’s artistic skills. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
