I recently went to Spoke & Weal on the recommendation of a trusted friend. After 17 years with my hair stylist it was time for me to make a change and I'm so happy that I did! I feel so lucky to have been introduced to Joanie, she is truly gifted and gave me an amazing haircut that I am getting continual compliments on. Joanie listened to my needs (after two kids my hair isn't as lush as it once was) and gave me a cut that created more density in my hair while keeping the length. The salon it self is beautiful and airy - full of light and wonderful and laid back staff. Definitely check it out and get an appointment with Joanie, she's the best!

Grace is hands down the best. As a client that’s been seeing her since school I’m bias, but nevertheless. Every time I come in for a cut, she listens attentively and executes with precision. Spoke and Weal is a gem, and so is Grace!

Not only is she a color genius, but her calm, confident energy made the whole experience relaxing and fun. If you’re looking for someone who truly gets color and cares deeply about her craft, Sarah at Spoke & Weal is the one. I’ll never trust anyone else with my hair again!

Alessandra is absolutely worth every Penny. I have long dark thick hair and she knows I like mine to grow out nicely as well and both times I’ve received a cut/style it has been beyond my expectations. I always come prepared with a video or pictures and we chat and talk about what I need and how I wear my hair normally and she always gets it 100%. Went with my husband for my birthday because he has curly fine hair as well that needs a more professional cut and he was so happy. 12/10 will be back!

If I could rate them higher, I would. Sarah from the Back Bay location is amazing and a perfect colorist. I really appreciated how everyone spoke to me (no pun intended). Everyone was super genuine and helpful, yet still friendly and knowledgeable. I got exactly the color and cut I wanted but I didn't feel like they were trying to sell me on anyone, or talk to me in a forced, "customer service" voice. Bella did my cut and it was exactly what I asked for. She even offered complimentary refreshes/retouches on my bangs which I think is EXTREMELY helpful (and will prevent me from asking my non professional friends to upkeep my bangs). This location is very convenient in Back Bay and the studio itself is clean, bright and beautiful. Thank you both so so much! (Adding pics)

WOW!!! BELLA RAY is absolutely amazing! I’ve been living in the city and going to overpriced salons for 10+ years and she is by far the best in the city. Her personality so super professional, as well as knowledgeable on how to take care of hair, what to use, etc. I’ve recommended everyone I know to go to her and they’ve all had amazing experiences.

I love Spoke and Weal. I was a loyal customer in NYC. I recently moved to Boston and needed an appointment asap but couldn’t find a time. I went somewhere else (not Spoke and Weal) and yikes - they absolutely butchered the cut and color. I came in a few weeks later to Spoke and Weal and Elyse saved me! Gabby even cleaned up my hair cut. Everyone was so kind and clearly passionate about what they do. So relieved to have found them!
