Every time I have gone here, it's been inconsistent. I unfortunately kept giving them a chance for some reason. Anyways, in my most recent visit, they messed up my hair so badly that I needed to go to a hair school to fix. I gave them a reference photo and the hair stylist gave a glance and went to do my hair. To be quite honest, I kind of felt unhappy after leaving the chair but I didn't really say anything since my hair usually does not like the products used in salons. However, after I washed my hair at home with my products, I knew something was off. My left side felt heavier than the right. It turns out that the left side of my hair was unlayered while the right side was layered. I don't understand how you could skip one whole side. When you work out, if you do work out one side, you do to the other right after. The same principle applies here for hair cutting, but I guess they didn't get the memo - I also did not ask for any asymmetrical cuts. Anyways, I felt ugly and unconfident for a month. Then my hair grew and I got a perm in Chinatown to hide the mistakes caused by this salon. I won't be coming back, and Chinatown is closer to me anyways.
They messed up my hair. I came in with parts of my bleached hair dyed magenta purple (almost pink), which was my fault for DIYing it at home. I was going for a dark purple, and I knew if I got it dyed a dark grape purple it could cover the magenta. I asked for them for that color, and I even stated I knew my whole head won’t be even because parts of my hair was bleached (I didn’t want to bleach my whole head for this appointment). All I wanted was pure dark purple hair and I made it clear that I wanted NO hints of magenta or pink on my head. They started off the dye process without even showing me the colors. The person who did my hair mixed a few tubes and was about to just go in without confirming with me first the color dyes they mixed together. I had to politely ask, and it was discomforting to realize they were quite literally eyeballing all my requests instead of carefully looking at my reference pictures. After the dye they had me sit at the hair station (heats up the head for the dye) and I was forgotten about for like an hour. My head was burning and hot. Customer service was especially bad when I was finally brought to the washing station. The person washing my head had no regard for me— constantly splashing water on my face and positioned my neck in such a way that I got cramps. I know they’re not the most luxurious salon and I respect their humble hustle, however they legit only gave their BARE MINIMUM. After my hair was dyed I was satisfied with the color. The hair cut was a nightmare. I told them what I wanted and showed a picture that they only glazed over for a second. When I show someone a reference picture I expect them to give me exactly that, yet the person only glanced at it and assumed they knew exactly what I wanted. I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt and trusted the process but I realized I should’ve spoke up sooner. I didn’t want curtain bangs. I specified that. Guess what I ended up walking out of there with? Also they style my hair horrendously and I had to tell them to restyle, once again pulling up my refrence photo that they pushed away the first time. They messed up my bangs it looks like shit. Anyways… I paid over $100 dollars plus tip for my hair, and 55 dollars (including tip) for my sisters hair cut. My sisters bangs are basically screwed and her haircut looks god awful. I had to ask them to fix her hair multiple times and pulled up a reference pic only for them to blame my sisters hair for not cooperating. The owner noticed my reactions and asked if I was genuinely satisfied with my sisters hair cut. I appreciate his kind gesture but realistically I knew my sisters hair was not salvageable. Her bangs were cut so short there was LITTERELY nothing they could do at this point. Mind you I asked them to give her layers and side bangs— the most basic thing you could ask for. She had this haircut done in Vietnam and for some reason these people couldn’t do it. It’s been 2 weeks since then. My hair looks disgusting. Purple completely faded and I’m left with magenta hair. The exact thing I came in to fix. I paid over $100 for my hair to last 1 week. I’m so upset. If it was going to fade I wanted to be warned about it first. No one told me anything and I had to figure it out the hard way. I lost my money. Don’t go here if you want anything more advanced than a buzz cut. Their services are awful and they overcharge. I even go out of my way to tip generously. I let alot of things slide and stayed polite my entire service however my hair fading was the last straw. The only way I can fix my hair is if I dye it all black, but if I do that I can never dye it another color. I’d have to wait years, or bleach my whole head. My hair is ruined. I never leave reviews but I’m so upset right now. This appointment I had alone would be an automatic 1 star, however out of respect for their hustle and past BARELY DECENT experiences I’ll be giving 2. I’ve been to this salon 3 times and this experience by far was the worst one.
got my hair done by khanh super friendly and also really fast, i just got a trim and some layers but i love my hair!! 🙂
Absolutely love my haircut! Moving to a new city made it tough to find a new salon that knows how to layer my hair properly, but Khanh delivered what I asked for. He is super kind and a professional at what he does! Definitely recommend to make an appointment beforehand as the wait could be a while.
I am very upset with this haircut! It took me years to grow my hair long and I specifically said multiple times that I did not want it too short. She cut it much shorter than I wanted. I thought she was cutting it too much so I said something but she assured me it was long in the back. I showed her, layers and long past my chest, she cut it shorter than my shoulders in the front except for the back where the very tip is just long enough to touch the top of my chest when leaning. That was her defense, that it was that long in the back but I was very clear and the damage is done. Never going back and just want to cry. Don’t go here unless you want hair cut way hotter than you ask/show them. I could have probably done a better job myself or gotten a better cut at the beauty school for less than $29. I paid for a good haircut but did not get what instead lost half my hair, my best feature and much of my confidence.
Courtesy and professional. The shop is clean and displays a pleasant atmosphere. The staff are friendly and genuine. I would recommend you to give a try.
I started going here a few months ago got my first cut came out amazing but when I went back last month to get my trim and style it was someone els and I was told they let the original person go I let them know the cut n style I get and they even had a photo of the wall of it he started to straighten my hair first (never had that done on a trim or cut) I told the person numerous times it’s not enough layers and the cut did not look right I had to pay n just go cause he didn’t understand me when I got home I realized he just cut my bangs short and only cut the V shape I wanted it had no layers and still had dead ends now when I wet my hair the curls are ugly and I still have dead ends I decided not to go back cause the 3 times I’ve been there has been new people never the same and if I had to almost argue about my hair in the chair it was pointless to go back to be fixed.
