Red Stella – Boutique Hair Salon in Austin for Balayage, Hair Color & Haircuts

I’ve been a client at Red Stella for over four years and I get compliments on my hair almost every day of my life. The incredibly talented, consistently amazing, master colorist Alisha does my hair, but I’ve witnessed and experienced the magic of many other stylists there too. (My partner sees J—he has curly long hair and will only let them touch it!) This salon just gets people. Not only do I leave with a date-ready blowout every time, I’m able to recreate it at home because the haircut is just that good. Plus, Alisha is an excellent teacher when it comes to giving clients tips & tricks for doing their hair at home. I look forward to every appointment and event here (psa they’re hosting a holiday party with the vintage store next door 12/21). AND I love seeing this salon and its gifted artists grow. Red Stella deserves all the hype.

A pleasure from beginning to end, whether dropping in to buy some of my favorite Oribe or R&Co products, or for an intensive Wella treatment to refresh & restore my multi-processed locks. The stylists are trained with the latest ongoing education, and it shows in the range of customized services they provide. Happy, healthy, here for it!

Ella did an absolutely phenomenal job on my hair, not to mention her fantastic conversation skills. I typically prefer to do my own hair, but after my last appointment I was converted back to salon cuts. We did a fox tip dye this time, and it looks so good. Easy instructions to finding parking/salon and super accommodating staff. I cannot recommend Ella enough!

Nikki did an absolute wonderful job on making my hair look fabulous!! I’ve posted a before and after below. Nikki was very thorough on what she was doing to my hair step by step. She provided advice on how to maintain my hair at home. I would definitely book an apt with her! Thank you Nikki for making me feel flawless!!

The staff was accommodating and kind, I showed up a tad late and they still fit what I needed during the appointment. Zella understood exactly what I wanted and did an amazing cut. My hair feels spunky and fun and I got a free snack. Only validated garage or street parking.

Reece did an amazing job on my hair. Treated myself for a back to school / birthday appointment and she absolutely killed it. I’m so used to leaving hair appointments disappointed but I left genuinely ecstatic. She worked with my price point and gave me so much confidence. Can’t wait to go back!

I recently moved to Austin and was looking for a new hairdresser. Reece from Red Stella was highly recommended in Google reviews, so I booked an appointment with her and rightfully so—I had an amazing experience with Reece! I came in with long hair and wanted some fresh layers without losing too much length and she absolutely nailed it. She really took the time to listen to what I was looking for and made sure we were on the same page before she started cutting. The result was exactly what I had hoped for: soft, blended layers that add movement and shape without making my hair feel thin. She was also super gentle and precise, which I really appreciated. If you’re looking for someone who actually listens and delivers exactly what you envision (or better!), I can’t recommend her enough.
