Salon Foomin

Fumiko was very patient and detailed when giving me advice and styling my hair. I had long, straight hair and wanted a change. She did an amazing job, and I’m so happy with the result. I definitely recommend her!

I have to write a review to say how good Foomin is. Based on my personal experience, you can tell if the stylist did a good job by seeing how easy/difficult it is for you to set up your hair after getting up in the morning. It's been more than a couple of weeks since I came back from Foomin's, and setup in the morning is easy as a breeze. The shape of the overall hair looks good. That told me that the stylist was attentive to details during the haircut so that my hair still looks good after a period of time. The service there was great as well. Hair, shampoo, and massage. Pricing is reasonable too. Appointment can only be made on Tuesdays though. So take note of that before visiting them. I will definitely visit again when it's time to mow the lawn! Thank you, Foomin! (EDIT: 10/30/2024) I feel so reluctant to edit my review and take one star away from it, but I have to say I am feeling very frustrated with the appointment process. I followed the instructions in the voicemail box and called in today on 9am. The call was not answered. I had to go to work, so I left a voice message indicating my availability and contact information, hoping I will get a confirmation later. During my break, I noticed there was a missed call from Salon Foomin, but they didn't leave any voice message. I called back, and there was still no answer. Their voicemail box, however, was updated. The whole coming week was fully booked. In other words, because I could not answer their call when I was working, now I have to wait for another week to make an appointment for a haircut that would be at least two weeks later.... I understand that the appointments can get very competitive considering how amazing the stylist is, but apparently the owner needs to SIGNIFICANTLY improve the appointment experience. I really enjoyed my previous (and only) experience in this salon, as stated in my original review above, but we all have our life, and the right to make an appointment should not be limited to those who can keep calling and waiting by their phone on a specific time of a particular day in the week as if we were competing for a highly sought-after ticket for a celebrity or sports event.

I had a great experience at Salon Foomin! I went in to get 12 inches chopped off for a hair donation, and Asuka did a fantastic job! She was super detailed and took time making sure everything was perfect. I absolutely love my bob haircut and would highly recommend Salon Foomin! Parking was easy to find, and they accept card.

All the stuff members are so welcoming and they keep all the tools and space very clean! I just got a hair cut and treatment and my dried, damaged hair got repaired/rejuvenated so quickly and beautifully! They use very high quality hair care product probably imported from Japan which I trust. They are well trained and so knowledgeable! Totally recommend this hair salon:)!

Fumi is wonderful! She's been cutting my wife and sons hair for years. We're very excited that she has opened this salon. It's got a real comfortable vibe and always makes you feel welcome.

Salon Foomin is such an asset to Massachusetts. It is hard to find a good Japanese salon without having to go through traffic on Newbury st — this place is right by Cambridge. I had an excellent hair cut by Fumi last week, and the head massage was soooo nice. I will definitely be coming out from Boston to Salon Foomin to get my haircuts now!

I received an excellent haircut at Salon Foomin. My hair is wavy and this cut is almost sculptural and very flattering. It also nicely obscures a cowlick on the back of my head. Fumi, the stylist and owner, was very pleasant.
