Pure Luxe Salon and Spa

so 8-9 weeks ago I went to Pure Luxe International Salon & Spa and paid 123$ to get my hair permed and tipped. I left looking like a wet poodle with half my hair straight. The other was as curly as can be. I messaged them and they were so nice and let me come back a week later. They did a strand test and my hair was not able to be permed. We made a date for later on to try again with a different stylist. I went and they were nice to me. I left with my hair damp and by time I got home, over half my head was straight and the rest had some curls… but my scalp had chemical burns, and now I’m missing chunks of hair. A big piece where my part is. I understand some peoples hair isn’t meant to be permed, I understand some professional salons can do a stronger mixture and make it happen, they didn’t. I left and the hairdresser told me I had nice texture and the lady at the desk said how I had nice curls and looked good. They did not have the decency to tell me some people’s hair doesn’t take or anything instead they lied to me and messed me up. I highly do not recommend. They are nice to your face but don’t have the professionalism to be honest when something doesn’t work or go right. I saved up for a while to get this done and this is what I was left with. The first picture is what I wanted. The next 3 we’re from the first time and the last pictures were from this last time I went. Don’t go there

It’s disappointing to see a business throw shade at a former esthetician who moved on years ago. When someone invests their own time, money, and passion into their craft, they deserve support — not petty posts fueled by ego. Whoever runs this account clearly hasn’t let go, and it shows. Acting out of spite doesn’t make you look like a winner, no matter what song you attach. Be better. Support growth, don’t mock it. "Pure Luxe" shouldn’t have to put anyone down to feel seen. There’s room for everyone to grow, especially in this industry. I don’t condone bullying — not in business, not in life. Let’s do better and lead with respect. My sister is out here building something real — with love, talent, and integrity

Cheri Shoemaker does all my work but I would trust any one of her other professional associates. Teri Ford is the proprietor and an outstanding businesswoman. I also consider her a personal friend. Fabulous women!!

The salon overall is always amazing. The owner is incredibly nice and loving towards anyone and everyone, the stylist are always pleasant to be around and the masseuse is spectacular. So far I've never had a dull visit that doesn't make the wonderful atmosphere really pop out right at you and blow you away. The shop is incredible and will be our only stop whenever we are in Ames, as it has been. I can't day a big enough thank you for the wonderful customer service from the salon as a whole.

I adore Tenia, Sherry and Terri. I've gotten my hair cut and dyed with these people multiple times and every time I am always satisfied and leave in a better mood than I was in when I got there. Tenia is very good at working with you on what you want and she's great at conversations, Sherry is also fun to talk to and really good with hair colors. The part of the staff that I've met and the owner are all fun people to be around and know just how to make you feel at home.

Tenia was amazing at understanding exactly what I wanted to do with my hair. She has a wealth of knowledge about all different types of curls, and not only does a great service but provides useful education and information for how to improve your curl care at home. The salon staff were so welcoming and lovely, I would recommend Pure Luxe to anyone!!

I had an amazing facial and I've never been more relaxed with any treatment before from any other salon. My technician was very informative, sweet and very good at what she did. She went above and beyond to make my facial an experience unlike any other. I will definitely be coming back.
