Rodrigo who runs/owns the place is a fantastic person. He makes you comfortable, asks you exactly what you want, gives good recommendations and also puts on music which was a new thing for me. Good haircut for a very reasonable price.

Rodrigo did an AMAZING job with my haircut! The place was clean and Rodrigo’s personality made me feel so welcomed. I had a vague idea for what I wanted and he did such a good job at recommending what would look best. He also gave great recommendations for products that would be best for my type of hair. I'd absolutely recommend this place. The staff is really friendly and welcoming and the stylist works with you to find the best look for you. There's rarely a line so feel free to walk in. P.S. Alot of kids get their haircuts here too and they all seem quite comfortable and happy, so it's also a good place for parents to bring them to.

Let me shout out Mafei hair salon in Allston. I am literally getting married in less than 5 hours and my scheduled hair appointment at a different salon was cancelled because she’s got a cold and doesn’t know if it’s COVID or not. I came into Mafei as a walk-in and they squeezed me in for a trim and layers. I am so VERY happy with my haircut AND Penha added some things to make it easier for me to style when I get home. Very affordable for the quality of work (I tipped her 33% and it was still under $75). If you need a hair appointment for anything and you’re in the Boston/ Brighton/ Allston area, I suggest you check them out. Fabulous customer service and high quality hair services. Very satisfied.
