Salon 46

Hilda has always been great with my hair. I went in today to touch up the beautiful purple she did for me in November, and it looks so vibrant and fun. I have very fine and thin hair, and I always leave liking it so much more after Hilda has done her magic!

Hilda did an incredible job on my hair. She took her time to understand exactly what I wanted and made sure every detail matched the look I was going for. The trim and blowout came out clean, smooth, and so flattering. She also shared helpful tips on how to take better care of my hair, which I really appreciated. You can tell she cares about her work and about her clients. I left feeling confident and excited about my hair. Hilda is amazing!

*Update*. I would like to amend my review as the manager did reach out and was very kind, understanding, and helpful regarding my situation. I plan on returning to the salon in the future as that kind of costumer service is incredibly rare and I appreciate their willingness to engage with me on my experience. Asked for full balayage with strawberry blonde toner (what I have been getting for the last few years at my previous salon), what I got was highlights (no hand painting technique) toned with dark copper that darkened my entire hair. I showed a photo at the beginning of the appointment of my previous fresh full balayage to help describe the color. By the time I saw how dark it turned out it was too late.

Semaja did such an amazing job with my hair today! She took the time to not only listen to what I wanted for my cut and color, but also execute it to a tee! I originally walked in with extremely dry, heavy hair. There was a dark hole in my hair’s coloring from a very old partial balayage. Semaja had me walking out with a beautiful, natural-looking lighter blonde color and silky smooth hair. The cut she gave me was exactly what I wanted too: layers to lighten the weight of my hair and face framing. She also was so pleasant throughout and even shared advice on her recommended approach for my at home hair care moving forward. So grateful to Semaja for helping me love my hair again! I have been going to Salon 46 since Carole joined the team. Her ability to cut both short and long hair always leaving me feeling fresh and in style. I also now get my hair colored by Carole, and I trust her artistry to create unique color combinations for me. The salon is always decorated for the season and I’m greeted and treated as if I was at a spa.

I’ve been seeing Hilda for cuts and blonde highlights for over a year now, and she is truly the best. Not only is she incredibly talented, but she’s also so friendly and easy to talk to. I trust her completely with my hair, and every appointment leaves me feeling refreshed and confident. If you’re looking for someone who really listens and delivers beautiful results every time, Hilda is great!

I normally don’t make negative reviews, but I am so unhappy with my hair. I went in for my appointment yesterday requesting a very layered haircut with bangs and face framing. I’ve attached the reference photos I showed. After she cut my hair into a lopsided bob, she blow dried my hair. When I pointed out one side was longer and she didn’t add layers, she dry cut it to make it even and started randomly hacking at my hair with a razor blade to "thin it out" (my hair is already very thin). After asking her to fix things 3 times, I gave up. My hair is still lopsided, the "layers" look like dead ends and breakage because they’re random and inconsistent. The hair stylist was very nice and gave me her phone number, but at this point I genuinely don’t think there is anything that can be done without making my hair even shorter. For the foreseeable future I’m just stuck curling my hair unless I want to leave the house with an uneven bowl cut. Also props if you can see the pink highlights I paid for.
