If you do not have a spare 9+ hours, an extra 200+ dollars to spend, or if you’re trying to get your hair done for a refreshing change/mental health boost I do not recommend lavish. I decided to splurge on myself, so I saved up for a few months. At my consultation, I was quoted 4.5 to 5 hours for Y2K highlights so I booked 5 to be on the safer side and budgeted for an extra hour just in case. Immediately when I got there the first thing the stylist said is that since someone else did my consultation, they can’t guarantee it would take 5 hours and it would probably take longer, but they had other appointments booked and if it did take longer than 5 hours, I would have to come back. I said that wouldn’t be an issue. While scrolling through inspo pics for shades and placement inspo, the stylist stated they’d be able to do a look from one of the pics within 5 hours which wasn’t what I had originally planned for but the clock was ticking and they charge by the hour so we agreed on a "quicker" look (a lived in blonde with a money piece) During the appointment, another stylist came up behind my stylist and said it would be about a 3 hour service. I was there for 7 hours. I walked in with butt length, healthy, shiny hair and walked out with an uneven, fried, brassy $300+ dollar 7 hour nightmare. I take VERY good care of my hair and treat it regularly because hair is often one of the first things people notice. The beginning of the appointment felt like the stylist was trying to stretch it out to the 5 hours I was originally quoted since they charged by the hour, and when they realized they had another appointment coming up, rushed through the rest. I couldn’t help but cry when my hair was revealed to me. The stylist told me several times while doing the final rinse of my hair that if I wasn’t happy with the results, I could come back for a correction. I was confused at that point because I hadn’t seen my hair yet. After the reveal, he sent a picture to who he said was a leader or the owner and he said I should expect for them to contact me within 24 to 48 hours. *I was charged for the full 7 hours and left in shock and tears. The next day after not hearing anything after the salon has been open for hours I decided to give them a call and check in on a resolution and timeframe. I was told I would receive a call within an hour. 3 hours later I had to call back 2 more times before finally receiving a call with a resolution. I was offered four free hours with their blonding specialist for what was a full color correction ONE WEEK LATER.* I’m baffled by the lack of urgency and accountability at this salon. Especially when it comes to something as visible and spiritually important as hair. I never received any type of apology, despite several of their own stylists agreeing that my hair was very uneven in both color and placement and in their own words wasn’t professional level work. I’m grateful for 7 hours Christian, the blonding specialist took to attempt to fix his colleagues (and the owner’s) mistake on his day off. Unfortunately, it didn’t fix the *extensive* damage caused by the first stylist nor the financial or emotional distress I’ve experienced and continue to experience as my hair continues to lose length and volume through breakage. I’ve been coming to Lavish Hair Lounge since I first started out on my own and desperately needed someone to save me from my tragic at home haircut attempts and let me just say, Tati has NEVER done me wrong. I can say that with full confidence. She is the only person I trust with my hair. Since finding her, my hair has consistently looked perfect, and healthy. She truly listens, knows exactly what she’s doing, and somehow always makes my hair come out better than I imagined. If you’re looking for someone you can fully trust and stick with long-term especially if you have wavy frizzy hair, Tati is that girl. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. (Pic is from today!🥰)

Literally best place to get a haircut after not doing so for years. I booked with Julia and she was so sweet and did exactly what I wanted. I have wavy/curly hair and she was able to cut it dry & wet with no issue then gave me such a lovely blowout. My hair is so so shiny and feels amazing definitely needed a refresh.

I cannot say enough good things about Destiny. This was my first time at the salon and honestly I was nervous walking in. I hadn’t had a haircut in a long time and my hair has been thinning because of medication, which made me really self-conscious. Destiny immediately made me feel comfortable. She listened carefully, took her time, and treated me with so much grace and kindness. You can tell she truly cares about her clients and takes pride in what she does. The haircut she gave me completely transformed my hair. It looks fuller and healthier! I walked out feeling confident and like a brand new woman. If you’re in Albuquerque and looking for a hairstylist who listens, understands thinning hair, and genuinely wants you to feel beautiful when you leave the chair, book with Destiny. I’m so grateful I found her.

The whole team is wonderful—Sparrow always takes time to ask questions about what I want and clarify what it is I like about inspiration pics. I’ve always been thrilled with how my hair turns out. What sets Lavish apart, I feel, is how the business itself is run. Their stylists charge hourly rates commensurate to their experience they and don’t rely on gratuity to make a living wage. They recommend products if needed but I’ve never been pressured to buy the products they carry (though R&Co do make great stuff). Everyone seems to work as a team to make the experience great. I couldn’t get in with Sparrow for a bang trim due to a busy schedule, but another stylist Emily was able to get me in for a complimentary quick bang trim. Wonderful talented folks all around and other salons should look to Lavish as a role model in the industry.

I loved my experience with Mackenzie! She was kind, patient, and understanding of my hearing loss, making me feel completely at ease. She carefully corrected a previous haircut and explained everything she was doing. I’m so happy to have found a stylist I trust and will definitely be returning!
