Maruichi Japanese Food & Deli

Great variety of Japanese food and drink!! Already packaged food and freshly made. Also a good place to get ingredients or even little toys. During busy times it can get a bit packed but otherwise a good location and layout.

Maruichi feels like a hidden gem — a small supermarket with a great selection of Asian foods and ingredients. Whether you’re looking for sauces, noodles, snacks, or specialty items, they have a little bit of everything. One of the highlights is their variety of ready-to-eat meals, which are perfect if you’re craving something quick and authentic. It’s a great spot to explore and pick up both groceries and delicious prepared food.

We're basically at Maruichi every week! It's like being transported back to those cute little Japanese shops we found during our Japan trip. Don't let the size fool you—they stock an amazing range of products and snacks. The staff is genuinely friendly and helpful, and there's always something fun to find.

This Japanese store and deli is located in Blue Back Square under a parking garage. It's a small store but there are a nice variety of products and it's fully stocked with Japanese goods. There are prepared foods such as sushi and chicken katsu over rice, to name a couple. There's a produce section, gifts, and dry goods such as ramen noodles. On this visit, I purchased some special ramen noodles, sushi rolls, seaweed salad, and desserts. It's a great spot to purchase quirky gifts too. It's definitely up there with my new favorite stores because of the variety of foods, random items, and the prices were affordable; I look forward to visiting again.

Crown jewel of West Hartford, imo. Proper Japanese import grocery store with sushi that's fresher and more affordable than Whole Foods across the street. They've even got large cuts of sushi grade fish to take home and make your own. Primo grocery asset and lunch spot (despite being in the Disneyfied quick dev parking garage simulation glitch that is Blueback Square) Katsu curry platters, eel don bowls, passionately roe-topped chirashi bowls, cold chewy red bean buns, etc., this is the best place in town to pop in for a quick lunch, and the only place with as elaborate a selection of str8 from Japan grocery and beauty products. A+ Long may they live, much may they prosper. Visit them! Im eating such a vibrantly flavored lychee candy right now as I write this and I wish the same for you too soon.

Wasn’t able to get any photos of inside the market but it’s definitely a good sized japanese market with tons of options for asian grocery items. I managed to pickup some shokupan(milk bread) as well as black sesame paste, red bean paste, and some soy bean powdered mochi. They’re also open everyday which is pretty convenient.

A wonderful supermarket that lets me try authentic Japanese foods without having to go to Japan or send away. They have everything you would need in their sushi, snack, pastry, skin care, spice, and merchandise sections of the store. The market is clean and staff are pleasant. The only thing you should know before coming is to bring a refrigerated bag if you want to buy sushi, ice cream, or pastries, they don’t offer them in store and you don’t want your stuff to melt! If you are in West Hartford and you love Japan, stopping here is a must!
