The Crown Market

The Crown Market is easily my favorite kosher spot in West Hartford. In addition to plentiful on site parking, there’s tons of good eats, and even a schmooze section to enjoy their amazing food, and well, schmooze. If you’re feeling decadent, try their delicious treats, especially the chocolate chip cookie sandwich. The only thing better is the people, like Mike, whom I had the pleasure of meeting. Mike was extremely courteous and helpful, and one of the key reasons that I look forward to my next visit.

Stopped-in while in from out of town to get some kosher deli meats. The selection was unimpressive. Back home the pastrami was flavorless and spongy rather than stringy. The liver in the chopped liver had been overcooked so when ground up was grainy rather than smooth. Also lacked sweetness of onions. Perhaps no onion at all. Will never return.

They made the best kosher pastrami and roast beef deli sandwich to order, a perfect way to end my quick business trip to the area. Grabbed a couple of potato borekahs as well. Delicious and highly recommended!

I bought 2 cooked chicken breasts that were so dried out were as hard as a rock. There was no lights on around the outside of the store and parking lot. I haven't been here in a while and won't be coming back.

Large parking and well stocked inventory. The store was clean, and the manager was helpful. They clearly take pride in their work!

Quality of deli: 5 stars Confusing Passover experience: 1 star BOTTOM LINE: visit for the deli We visited this grocery on Passover, after tasting some of their very delicious catering/deli at a conference in Hartford. I was SUPER EXCITED to sample some of their delicious kosher roast beef again, but when we got there, the deli wasn't slicing meat because of Passover? Even though they were open? And while this was Passover, there were a LOT of not kosher-for-Passover items mixed in with the Passover items and I was very confused. Prices were pretty good, though. Bonus points for cool retro sign.

Crown Market catered my grandsons Bris a few days ago and we were very pleased. Being new to the area I was somewhat skeptical at first ordering for this occasion but it was very well done. The platters were arranged in a lovely manner. But most of all, everything from the Nova to the desserts were delicious. Matt and Sarah adequately fulfilled the order. My only slight complaint is that the bagels need to be cut more evenly. However as a former New Yorker I am pleased to have found the Crown Market for Kosher food and now for catering.
