Capitol Supermarket

I live in Newark nj and my food stamps were stolen this month 2/04/26 and this is one of the stores where my card was used to skim off all my food stamps idk if it’s one person or a ring of people or if this store is apart of it and receiving a benefit also if they could steal mines from out of state imagine what they could do their local customers please keep your ebt cards locked. There is a full investigation in full swing and we’re learning more everyday what goes around always comes back around

The best finds in this neighborhood grocery are the dried spices and the Latin cheeses. For basic goods and meats, it’s cheaper at nearby Giant. The staff is friendly.

Shall I name the reasons I love this place? There are really too many … they have such great produce with lots of vegetables you can't find at Giants. Like big carrots and Asian eggplants. They have all Korean and Mexican essentials that you usually can't find unless you go to a specialty shop. But even more than that, they have all the nice American/European things that you need everyday, like good cheese. Also excellent meat and wine selection — all at great prices. At this point you might think I was paid to write this review, but no, I just love this grocery store near my home and I want everyone to know. To me, this is the best grocery in DC. I love you capital supermarket <3.

Great fresh produce and selection of cheese. You can find everything there to get your breakfast and/or lunch. Also, some mexican food. Usually, not crowded. It’s not a fancy store, but I like it.

Your typical neighborhood store. It will have what you need and some not typical. The fruits were fresh. I went to purchase mainly nuts and fruits. I was able to find a good variety of options. I asked 3 employees where some items were. Two of them were able to send me to the correct locations.
