Waco folks, if you like food, cooking, or just trying something new, you should check out Bazaar. I stopped in today out of curiosity and ended up really impressed. It is a South Asian grocery with a lot of things you simply do not see in the big grocery stores around town. Frozen samosas, kababs, naan, paratha, tons of spices, and shelves full of snack foods I had never seen before. I grabbed a bag of moong dal snacks and they are fantastic. Think super crunchy fried mung beans with chili and spices. Way more interesting than chips or pretzels and honestly pretty addictive. The owner was also really friendly and easy to talk to. He mentioned that if there is something specific you are looking for, they are happy to try to order it in. Places like this are how a town’s food scene grows. If we want more culture, more ingredients, and more interesting food options in Waco, we have to support the businesses bringing those things here. So go explore, grab something you have never tried before, and help keep places like this around.
