Safeway

I first off want to say that I live in the area and shop at this store DAILY. I love this store and 99.9999999% of the staff at this store. The ONLY person I am writing this negative review about is a new/returning manager Zack Farm. To be clear, I've worked in the law enforcement field mostly in the prison system. I say this to state that it takes a lot to creep me out. This man gives me bad vibes. He has never made attempt to greet me or introduce himself to me and I am to say the least a regular there. I've watched Zach check out underage girls as I've walked by. I've watched and heard him yell at associates in front of customers. I've heard him tell staff members that they will never be good leaders or respected if they don't work at least one closing shift. I've yet to see him close the store. He stared down my service animal and makes me feel uncomfortable to be around. I've seen lines super backed up yet never jumps on a register, well I mean there was that one pretty girl he opened his lane for. I've seen him walk around and look busy but never seem to do anything. I've observed him only talk to female employees and customers. Male staff who I'm close with have told me that he has made inappropriate comments and jokes about females. Ever since this waste of payroll has been here, I've seen a loss of regular customers, a loss of basic items that were readily available before he arrived and a loss of moral to the overall staff and customers. I'm going to put it bluntly, this "man" is a creep. He is unprofessional, he is a waste of payroll and makes both males and females uncomfortable. In my job I've delt with the worst of the worst without fear. I don't want this staff member within 20 ft of my wife, son or dog. Penny, Carlos, Lee and Emma John and all the others are all absolutely amazing! they are the reason I come back. I currently work at Fred Meyer as their armed security, and I chose to shop at Safeway because of them. I do not shop at that Safeway or any other for the great price, great selection or any other reason. I shop at Safeway mostly for convivence since I live across the street and for the great staff at that store. Zack Farm needs to be fired for the good of the store, the company and in my view public safety. I plan to make a phone call to corporate since I'm not sure how much weight this will carry. I'd love to hear back from Safeway but won't hold my breath.

Time for ANOTHER LAWSUIT!!!! Weigh your meat at home, these guys are stealing from customers. I was shorted a whole 5.06 ounces of MEAT!!!!! Absolutely infuriated, and I will be reaching out to the district attorney

I should have wrote this review a couple weeks ago. Went to the deli counter was accidentally charged for the wrong item. Wasn't able to make it back that day because of my schedule. But when I did make it back they were able to fully refund my money, because I had saved the tags.

Awesome as always. The manager, Monica, is wonderful in every way! She's helpful, outgoing, friendly, knowledgeable about her store, and much more! And always, the customer service is superb!

I went to get a sandwich from the deli at the Center st. Safeway 12/10/2025 at 2pm. The worker was an old lady with glasses and her name tag was flipped backwards. She was incredibly rude to the customers before me and then to me, despite us being friendly. I asked for a type of bread they no longer serve and she looked at me like I was asking for her to strip naked. She proceeded to argue with me about its existence but I used to work at Safeway years before and apparently since the last time I ordered a sandwich it’s been discontinued. Not a huge deal, but by god her attitude and demeanor would get anyone fired at any other job. She made it apparent that she hates her life and doesn’t want to be there. On my way out after I paid I saw and heard her jump down another employees throat and snap at her for asking a question. One of the meanest people I’ve come across ever, let alone at a grocery store. She’s a toxic employee and the staff and customers would be better off without her.

Im not sure what’s wrong with the deli area but the old HAG who makes the sandwich’s is extremely RUDE and doesn’t ask if you want cheese or meat! Gives you one slice of cheese and 2 pickle’s greedy and mean hope she gets fired for how rude she AND SHE USED THE WRONG BREAD EVEN AFTER I WAS NICE AND SAYING PLEASE AND THANK YOU SHE CONTINUES TO BE RUDE.

There is a lot of nice workers at the Safeway off of center Street and a lot of good prices I really like their app the problem I have is their store smells of drugs and their cashiers smell of drugs and it makes that whole area of the cashier overwhelming and it doesn't help with the high schoolers and homeless people that come in that also smelling like drugs center Street Safeway is very overwhelming to walk in sometime because of the smell on the people that work there.
