Absolutely terrible customer service. I went to make dinner last night and there was mold. All in my pasta sauce, completely ruined $50 worth of food. That I had purchased that day. When I called, I spoke to the lead clerk, she said that all the managers had left for the night and to come in the morning and talk to the managers. When I arrive this morning, I was met with nothing but rude.Service manager literally walked away from me, didn't care about what had happened i've been coming here for years and to be treated so poorly is sad

I love going here because prices are often lower than many of the grocery stores around. I like the selection, brand name and store name products. The meat department selection is really good and fresh. I often go here for large fillets of salmon or steelhead (rainbow trout) and shrimp as well. I also like the Adkins seasoning they have available for my seafood. However, they do not accept credit card like price club or Costco used to, but only cash or atm / debit bank cards. (This probably keeps prices lower.) so please make sure you are prepared beforehand.

The art of food in bulk! Others may refer to it as poor man’s Costco. However, it does not matter when in California food sells for more expensive than the price of gold. The food here is mostly fresh and good because there are many shoppers that move everything faster. And NO, these big barrels are not full of the bulk food. They only have the top 1/4 where the bulk foods live/stay. There are employees going around restocking all items in the barrels. You don’t need to fall in the barrels either or hurt your back to dive in it. You get the point now. They got a decent system. It all works somehow like the universe. Definitely better than Von’s, maybe better than Sprouts too but sprouts has more prestige and perhaps better quality that WinCo. The reality is that this part of California has many poor people who can’t afford the expensive grocery stories and they buy groceries at Dollar Tree and other dollar stores near by. In this case WinCo appears as step up. It’s clean, employees are decent too and there are no Walmart shenanigans at all.

This store seems to always carry everything needed, it's pretty well stocked with the exception of the meat department. It's hit or miss depending on the time of day you decide to go. One of the reasons I prefer Winco to other stores is because they are open 24 hours. Being severely immunocompromised I appreciate the fact I can go when convenient for me. Only downside I can think of is that it can get busy and the lines can get somewhat long,they usually have 2 registers open and will open another if necessary.

I love Winco! The pricing is the lowest around, the shelves are always stocked, the store is very clean and the shopping carts are in good shape and kept clean. The produce is always in good shape, sometimes even better than Sprouts and much cheaper. My favorite aisle is the bulk food section, especially the candy. The only drawback is you bag your own groceries which doesn’t bother me because I’d rather do it anyway. As far as cleaning supplies you can probably get them cheaper elsewhere. The cereal is pretty cheap too. You won’t go wrong shopping here. Update: The produce is the cheapest around and good quality, it’s actually better then the Sprouts on El Camino in Carlsbad. They only accept cash or ATM and you do have to bag your own groceries. You do not need to use a quarter to get a cart like you do at Aldi. Update 7/30th - Today I went in to pickup something for dinner and one of the meat department guys was tossing newer meat on the older meat that’s been sitting there. I said to him you have to rotate the new stuff with the older stuff you have the 3rd under what you just put on top which the 4th. He said oh. Check the dates people and what I noticed is they have a lot of meats that are already "seasoned" which is probably because they have a rotation problem in this store. When stores "season" any kind of raw meat it’s not to help you out it’s to mask the smell of spoiled meat and to cover up the color of the old meat. Season it yourself. 2/16/24 The woman with the Great Dane walked into the store as I was leaving, no stopping her. 9/3/25 - Today I went in looking for a steak and what I found was discolored steak at a discounted price. I’m so happy I know better because once you open that package the rancid smell would hit you in the face. I’m starting to have my doubts about the place. Quite a few employees also act like they’re pretty unhappy being there. What happened to "service with a smile?"

this is the only winco i go to for weekly shopping. I get almost everything here including dog food and dog toys. they recently got a new system so people can pay with Tap to pay. their deli meat is very good and so is the staff. bathrooms are always clean.
