One of a kind. Ships faster than Amazon, better-than-best customer service. They emailed me over the weekend (when the store was closed) after I let them know a discount code couldn’t be applied, and fixed the problem immediately. So glad I found them!

Super cute store with a nice bar in the back. Lots of cool Japanese items, including alcohol. I spent an hour at the bar drinking a sake flight and talking to Ian, the manager and bartender. Definitely a cool guy, we talked different Japanese alcohols and it was a great time. All in all, highly recommended you come and try it out!

This place is incredible. Nicely curated shop with extensive Japanese libations, snacks and objets d'art. Plus the bar serves so.e delicious drinks!

My wife and I buy online from Umami Mart since they are one of the few Japanese liquor stores that will ship to New Mexico. They are also one of the few online retailers that offers an impressively diverse selection of Shochu and Awamori--a strong selling point for their business. We have ordered online from them a handful of times now, and each order has been flawless: their website is intuitive and easy to use; the cost of shipping is reasonable (much cheaper than flying to Japan); the bottles are always neatly packaged; delivery times are impressive. The care with which Umami Mart curates it's offerings really comes across: a variety of price points and quality that's bound to appeal to a broad base of discerning customers. Excellent (albeit small) highly curated inventory of quality Japanese goods. The best selection of high-quality sake in the East Bay (or even the Bay area as far as I know). lf I have a criticism of Umami Mart, however, it would be that their prices are higher than what I normally pay at other stores. Of course, some products are only available from Japan so, for those items, the prices even out. Overall an excellent business.
