Good for a quick bite or lunch. Food Mae fresh everyday. You can get a decent lunch under $20. After 6pm there’s a discount for most of the sushi and sashimi. Seating in the back.
The store was nice and clean. The food I got was alright but I ended up not eating most of it.. Recommend buying food already made and ready to go. There’s an upstairs area that’s great for hanging out with friends and has a microwave. Would come here again.
I bought two iterations of spicy vegetarian meat, Tae Kae Noi crispy seaweed and Sichuan/cayenne peanuts for .50 cents. Tasty, conveniently packaged, on the go nutritious snacks. Meal, because I bought four kawaii and aesthetically inspired packages of plant protein and ate 'em all. I am on a sugar control mode. Otherwise, you can also go on an East Asian tummy tour with their craft ramen or have them prepare delish Indomie mi goreng for $3.50. They have a hygge seating area on the second floor with a microwave and hot water dispenser. A tasty, filling $3 hot meal in the flower district and a space to chill during lunch break is pretty cool, particularly if you're on a budget. Jelly B Konjac Jelly makes a cooling, sugar free and YUM desert. Go on an adventure or stick to your routine comfort. Too bad, they didn't put this on their loudspeaker window advertising for the locals, I am not their spokesperson.
Second time visiting and my experience was less than stellar (11/23/2025). I was followed by a worker pretending to fix things in every aisle I went into despite there being loads of other customers in the store. It was only after I made eye contact with the worker that they retreated. Once I finally went to check out, they reappeared at the unopened register doing absolutely nothing while more people were coming in. They have a great selection of snacks, but I felt so unwelcome that I will not be returning.
I really liked that they had a wide variety of prepared foods ready to eat. It's also great that there's a space where you can sit down and enjoy your meal right there! We tried the yakisoba, but unfortunately it wasn’t very good—the noodles were overcooked and that was pretty much all there was to it. I had the vegetarian one, and my partner had another kind (I can't remember the name), but he felt the same—too much pasta and not much flavor. That said, the mini-market was great for finding Japanese ingredients!
This is one of my best Asian place in general. When you’re visiting midtown manhattan and you’re a big fan of Korean, Japanese, and Chinese food and groceries, this is your heaven. They have enough dine in seats so that you can have food you just bought from them. +small restaurant and they sell rare imported beers too.
I used to buy their gimbap almost every day, but today I found a bunch of short, coarse hairs inside — not even from a head! So gross and disappointing. I’m honestly never buying from them again 🤢
