I love the new Wholefoods store. Such a big building, more space, the parking lot is very amazing and the bakery stations are pretty organized, I love the pastries 🥐 the brownies very tasty 😋 the coffee & tea section they have good flavors of coffee as well. I would love to visit again🫶🏽✨
This is certainly the nicest grocery store in Madison. This is a brand new Whole Foods location. It has high quality produce and a lot of organic options as well as a wide variety of foods, drinks, wines and cheeses. There's a full service deli bar with any kind of steaks meat or chicken or even seafood that you'd want to get There's an olive bar and a cheese bar as well as the tea and coffee bar. The fruit is consistently fresh even when out of season which is unusual for this part of the country. The prices are on the higher end of what you'll find at Woodman's and other local stores in the area, but given the convenience and variety of selection, I think it's worth it. The store is very well lit and well designed. It has a parking lot that's connected with both underground and above ground parking levels. The underground parking is really nice in the winter when it's cold. I would say that the clientele appears fitter and healthier than the average grocery store that you'll find in Madison, which is interesting. But you won't find a lot of foods like Oreos or Doritos at this store, both of which I like by the way, lol.
Whole Foods market in Madison was relocated to a new location. This new Whole Foods market is very nice, very clean and well organized. It’s a larger store with a larger parking area. It has fresh produce (mostly organic), meat, bakery, cheese, deli, coffee shop and sitting area. Everything looks fresh and delicious. I like their fresh fruit and bakery selection. The quality of their fruits is good. Their freshly squeezed orange juice tastes great. I tried their espresso and the coffee is good. Sitting area is nice and spacious. We enjoy shopping here.
We no longer have a Whole Foods near us so I drive a long way. SO worth it. Prices are excellent, of course produce is very fresh and organic options are plentiful. This is my happy store.
We have shopped here even before the new store opened. We went to check out in the self-checkout, and the snarky checkout person told us that it was 15 items only and told us to look at the sign WHICH WAS HUG FROM THE CEILING (not obvious for a short person)! We told them that we only had 15 items and they pointed at the screen that counted 25 items. Then they said that each piece of fruit (including bananas in a bunch) counts as ONE item. There was NOT a line and no rush, and only 2 checkers with people in line, so why even bring this up? Do better, you're supposed to be helping folks, not acting like the Whole Foods police!
I miss the windows and old store but this one will do. I was able to find parking in the evening of Tuesday, 12/26 in the attached garage under the store. I can believe this would not be the case on a busy weekend day. The selection is just the same, just more spread out. If they should have afforded more space to anything it should have been the food bar - still running into people left and right. Yes, the escalators are opposite of what people expect and there aren’t any windows in the cafe area, but there are manned registers as well as self checkouts.
Yesterday I ended up here after searching for Woodmans in Google Maps. Usually, I type in Woodmans into my Google Maps, and choose the first option as Google historically suggests the nearest Woodmans. Yesterday, I did this and ended up at Whole Foods, 15 minutes away from my intended destination. After further investigation, it appears that Whole Foods is a sponsored result on Google Maps. As a user of Google Maps and general customer, this is a horrible customer experience. The two stores are not equivalent in terms of items they carry or services they offer. They are 15 minutes apart from each other. I also noticed in some of my search testing afterwards that the sponsored option comes up inconsistently, which makes this easier to accidentally select. Please do not offer to send customers to entirely different stores when they search a specific store name. I can totally understand if I searched "grocery store" for this to happen. But not if I am literally searching for a different specific store name!
