its a beer life

I absolutely love this store. Providing a large variety of international goods from Africa, South and Central America and the Caribbean. Crossland International Market carries imported and hard-to-find ingredients as well as premium seasonings, Goya products, frozen fish, meats, exotic and tropical produce and more The produce is fresh and there is always something new I haven’t tried before to buy. My favorite are the Goya brand biscuit cookies. There are many varieties and they are not sweet like American cookies and biscuit cookies. Stop by and expand your palate with the many different food items they have in stock. The staff is always friendly and helpful.

Pros: Product selection and cultured items Cons: Organization of shelves could be a bit more orderly, parking can be a challenge on weekends First off id like to address comments like those of CC888. Would you rather had the owners in the store lie to you about the Jamaican Castor oil than be honest. Especially since they have extensive knowledge of the products and how to use them. The fact is that this in not made for everyone and it gets old that everyone thinks this is required. The owners might have been alluding to the fact that Jamaican castor oil can cause scalp and hair stress due to straight hair adjusting to the new products. It is actually recommended to use other forms of castor oil over Jamaican. Also it is your responsibility as a consumer to check and see if a product is expired. It would be one thing if you complained about the business having expired products but its another thing to hod the store solely responsible for your lack of detail as well. I have been into this store dozens of times to see what the store has available and have found most of their products to be good. However, I must state that some of the products sold here have preservatives and other ingredients that are not healthy. I predominantly buy the clothes and bath items from here as well as the African black soap which is really nice. When I notice that the owner or her daughter have some free time I will ask questions about certain things which they answer honestly.

Crossland International Market - A Culinary and Cultural Haven in Kansas City! If there were a Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory for African cuisine, Crossland International Market would be it, but instead of golden tickets, you’ll find golden spices! Nestled at 19 East 3rd Street, Kansas City, Missouri, this market is the ultimate treasure trove for anyone craving the rich, diverse flavors of West Africa. The moment you step inside, you’re greeted by the warm, inviting smile of the owner, a remarkable woman of Ghanaian origin who runs this delightful gem with her family. Picture this: her kids are often seen bustling around, adding to the lively, family-friendly atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. It’s like stepping into a family reunion where everyone’s favorite relative brings the best dishes. Now, let’s talk about the star of the show—the spices. Oh, the spices! From the fiery Ghanaian shito to wild meats that could make a gourmet hunter weep with joy, the selection here is both extensive and authentic. The refrigerated section? It’s like a portal to an exotic food wonderland, filled with delicacies you didn’t even know you were missing in your life. For those who love to experiment with global cuisines (and who doesn’t?), Crossland International Market is an essential stop. The array of African spices, seasonings, and specialty ingredients is unparalleled. I’m telling you, even a sprinkle of their magical spices can turn a mundane meal into a culinary masterpiece. Since 2005, this woman-owned and woman-run establishment has been a beacon of culture and cuisine in the community. The dedication and passion of the team are evident in every carefully curated aisle and every cheerful customer interaction. If you find yourself in Kansas City, make it a point to visit Crossland International Market. Try some Ghanaian shito, explore the wild meats, and soak in the vibrant cultural ambiance. Trust me, you won’t just be shopping—you’ll be embarking on a flavorful adventure that you’ll want to relive again and again!

I am forever grateful for this place being in existence, I was trying to find some Malta beverage that i became addicted to while in the Bahamas, this is the only place in town that seemed to have dark Malta, and they had a lot of different brands. The people were very nice, the store is a little bit of a mess like Brent said in the other comment, but it didn't phase me since the content of the store is what really makes it worthwhile. I have not yet examined in detail all of what the store has to offer since I have only come in for Malta, but I look forward to possibly finding more treasures inside.

My husband always gets everything he needs to keep him happy. He's from Ghana so it's important to have a piece of home accessible. Thanks for all you do!
