Apna Bazar Farmers Market in Jackson Heights has a great selection of Indian and South Asian groceries, fresh vegetables, and spices at reasonable prices. The store is spacious and well-stocked, though it can get crowded at times. A good spot for authentic ingredients.

I bought 5 bread rolls and 2 croissants. The bread rolls were priced at $0.60 each, and the croissants at $1.59 each. However, at checkout, 3 of the bread rolls were incorrectly charged at $1.59 each, which is the croissant price. I only purchased two croissants. When I pointed this out, I was told "this is the company’s policy" and nothing could be corrected. This was frustrating and disappointing. Customers should be charged always the correct price. Please check your receipt carefully before leaving.

This is a relatively clean and organized Apna Bazar. They have good inventory of vegetables, rice brands, and all the popular grocery products from India and Bangladesh. Big price cards in front of kost items. Aisles are marked with product types. I went to get some Maggi Noodles and Maggi Hot and Sweet sauce. I was happy to see the sauce had a $1 discount. The noodles had multiple bundle pack options. I also got a achar (pickle) jar as well. Checkout lane was relatively short. Didn’t wait long. The lady at the register helped me with packing the items in the bag. The only eye sore for me was some of the mess right in front at the entrance.

I don't need to say a lot about this grocery store. It is literally one of the best South Asian groceries in New York state. BUT there is no parking space available in the immediate area. ALSO, drivers are not following any traffic rules, they will just park on the road, turning the emergency lights on and blocking everyone behind them. Apart from that negative thing, they have all kinds of desi spices, groceries and many more. The place is packed with products all the time and it's almost always busy. Prices are fair too. They have a halal corner meat store, i think it is operated by a different owner. The meat is always fresh and prices are cheaper than other places. All the meat is halal. They have goat, lamb, chicken, beef, seafood and even organ meat. Whenever we visit NYC, Apna Bazar is a must place to go and buy groceries and be taken back home.

This is not the first time I’ve had a terrible experience at this supermarket. I’ve given them many chances, but they always end up disappointing me. The staff, especially the cashiers, are rude, unprofessional, and completely lack basic manners. They treat customers who are not of the same nationality very poorly, and I’ve felt discrimination and blatant racism. I strongly advise anyone to think twice before going here, as it’s consistently an unpleasant and upsetting experience.

If Frozen items are thawed out and then put back in freezer to sale once frozen no one can know. Today I bought ice cream (vadilal) was half eaten the top was looking ok but inside the top cover paper missing and 1/2 content was eaten. Some how they opened the top without breaking or going in from the side. Milk is always left out in heat for hours then sold it goes bad in a day or so. Full of bad frozen food which you can not check without opening the packaging and they sale it and do not take return or exchange or give you credit. I have so many bad experiences in last 2 years and PLACE IS FULL OF RATS WHICH YOU CAN SMELL AS YOU GO IN STORE. Newyork city food safety dept. Needs to be informed and tak notice of this. They once sold expired indian puff pastries and I reported them to 311 and online still same batch was there 4 a week or 2. They do not follow food safety guidelines at all. Also same experience with frozen corn and ready to eat Indian cooked and frozen submission from Bhikhaji,Vadilal,Rajbhog same thing no more business from me. This review os 4 ppl to be careful of thos location
