Tokyo Central Gardena

My family has been coming here for a very long time. It was called Marukai previously and the second floor was selling home goods and furniture. The sashimi and meats here are pretty fresh and good quality. They have a hot foods section where you can buy by the weight and also sushi to go. There's a food court near the entrance. I remember when there was a sushi boy in the corner as well as a ramen place run by an old Korean dude that would always shout your order when it's ready. They're mostly new restaurants now. Gindaco Takoyaki is pretty good. One of the best takoyaki you can find. I think it used to be an ice cream booth. Little Tokyo's Tanota Takoyaki is really good too. There are seasonal treats from various regions in Japan that they sell as well at Tokyo Central. Plenty of parking, but can get crowded.

Best Japanese market in the greater Los Angeles area. They sell everything from groceries, home goods (pillows, camping goods, dishes, laundry, cleaning products), over the counter Japanese pharmaceutical products, skin care, hair products (shampoo, hair dye, hair repair serum), make up, toys (plushies, blind boxes) and many more. They also have a hot deli section where they sell freshly made Japanese food ($10.99 per lb) and also carry a large variety of pre-cooked Japanese dishes and sushi. The aisles are fairly narrow and it gets VERY crowded with locals and tourists so please refrain blocking the aisles with shopping carts / kids and refrain from letting your kids run around the market like it’s a playground or letting your kids experiment with the self check out line. This is not the place to be training your kids how to operate a self check out. Free parking in the open parking lot.

This is such a beautiful market to get your Japanese food there. The upstairs restaurant is wonderful and the first floor restaurant offers a variety of Japanese prepackaged and fresh food as well. I love that places like these are close by in Los Angeles.

Probably the freshest sushi I've ever had. So many cool products - overwhelmed in the best way. I heard it's 20% off sushi past 7pm. Definitely worth it.

Fun Japanese grocery store featuring lots of fresh produce, meat, and fish, plus all the top options of Asian packaged brands and rice. There are many prepared food options as well, which go on sale for 50% off in the evening hours. Also, on the second floor, there are crane games ("wah-wah-gee")!

Basically the closest market you’ll get to shopping in Japan. Literally have everything and is a common location to stock up on goods when you don’t have a local place in your area. Prices are a little high due to import taxes, but you’ll often find items available no where else. Highly recommend checking out their Hawaiian section as well.

It was like stepping into Japan. All the selections were fresh and looked delicious. It's very popular so be ready for a crowd.
