Whole Foods Market

I bought a bag of mussels from this Whole Foods and found that about half were dead on arrival—their shells were open and did not close when tapped. (Have been like this the past three times I bought from them) This is a basic freshness check for live shellfish, and it was immediately obvious before cooking. For a store that markets itself on quality and food safety, this was disappointing. I expect better handling and inspection for live seafood, especially at Whole Foods’ price point. I won’t be buying mussels here again unless quality control improves.

I purchased a bag of lemons from this store on October 21, and I’m extremely disappointed with the quality. I usually buy individual lemons here and they’re always fresh, but I decided to try the bagged ones this time — and regretted it immediately. When I got home and opened the bag, several lemons were already moldy, soft, and split open. Clearly, these were in poor condition before being put on the shelf. For a store that charges premium prices, this level of quality control is unacceptable. I expect better oversight of produce quality — especially for pre-packaged items. Please ensure that bagged fruits are properly inspected before being sold.

The associate collecting trash mixed all waste into the same bin. Must inquire with management about the WHOLE FOODS recycling policy. In 2025, I was told that blending all trash into the landfill stream was temporary. Maybe the loss of EPA standards has trickled down to loss of WFs waste management standards. If interested in planet earth stewardship, confirm the recycling policy where you shop.

The parking is horrible on weekends or anytime you want to shop. The snow and ice are still blocking some of the parking areas from a month ago. The coffee shop and sit down tables for quick bites are gone, so it is a grab and go grocery store. Kentland local neighborhood vibe is gone. 😢

The only thing that could use improving is the quality/freshness of the produce. Every time I come in and look for fresh fruits and vegetables, I always find items that are either expired, wilted/mushy, or starting to mold. I’ve just started avoiding this section completely and buying my produce elsewhere. Other than that, I really do love this store.

Very disappointed in the service and knowledge of the people that work in the pastry department. On December 24th I went to get a a cake for my son birthday . I specifically asked if they have anything with chocolate mousse ? They recommended a cake named chocolate eruption. Absolutely worst cake , besides was super sweet and dry, had nothing of mousse in , dough and icing . Super disappointed.

This store is huge and literally has everything. They also carry the refrigerated dog food my dog eats. I came to drop off a return for Amazon. The cashiers were very friendly, and quickly helped me. They have a wide selection of fresh items. This was my first time visiting this store, it was a nice experience.
