I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this store. I purchased a large soup pot from this location and used it for the first time to make soup. After simmering for a few hours, the inside coating of the pot started peeling off badly. This is clearly a serious product defect and also a health concern, as the coating ended up in the food. Before visiting the store, I called the customer service center to explain the situation and ask how to proceed. I was told that the person in charge was out due to the winter storm and that I should come in today. I followed their instructions and brought the pot to the store as advised. However, when I arrived, I was told that the person in charge was not there so I had to wait for her to show. She finally came and she repeatedly said, "This has never happened before," and implied that the issue was impossible (?!!!?? Excuse me??) as if I had made it up. I purchased the pot and used it for one day, exactly as intended. I did not misuse it, and this damage did not occur over time. They are selling poor quality item and why do I have to go through this??! Even if this falls under a different department, the product was purchased at this store, and basic customer service responsibility should still apply. On top of that, I had also purchased soup ingredients from another store, which I had to throw away and could not return. As a result, I was left with both a defective product and wasted groceries. What made this experience even worse was the dismissive attitude. At one point, the response felt rushed and irritated, as if helping me was an inconvenience, rather than a legitimate customer concern. I was not asking for a favor or "begging" for a return .. I was simply requesting appropriate assistance for a defective product. As a regular customer who shops here almost every week, this experience was shocking and unacceptable. Making a customer feel blamed, dismissed, and uncomfortable when reporting a valid issue is not how customer service should operate. After this experience, I honestly feel hesitant to shop here again, because it feels unsafe to speak up when something goes wrong. I sincerely hope management takes this seriously and improves both product accountability and how customer concerns are handled in the future
Duluth has many Asian marts, especially Korean ones. Among them, Mega Mart is my favorite because it has a large parking lot with spacious parking spots, which is rare in the area. Thus, I can rest assured that my car won’t be dinged!
Fresh fruits, clean, delicious foods court! Many products from Korea! I love it!
🚦PARKING LOT CHAOS 🚨 - seniors ignore stop signs! Drive safe, bring dash cam 📹 Pros: * Korean snack game strong 🍜 * Fresh seafood selection, including abalone! 🐟 * Supporting local business is a plus 🙌 Cons: * Bakery is basic - Illy from Canada only ☕️ (H-Mart has fresh Tour les Jours!) * Deli options limited compared to H-Mart 🤷♂️ H-Mart 6 mins away wins my heart ❤️. But hey, shop local if you want! 👍
It’s clear that the customer service center desperately needs improvement. My first visit was back in 2022, and at that time most of the staff were generally unfriendly. Whenever I asked where items were located, employees would silently point instead of speaking, and they were even rude to my parents and child. Because of that experience, I never planned to come back. However, one of my coworker told me things had improved, so I decided to give it another chance three years later. The overall atmosphere did seem nicer this time, and most of the store staff including the cashiers were friendly. I was actually considering signing up for a membership until I spoke with the customer service center. When I asked about how to sign up, an older male staff suddenly snapped at me, telling me to "ask over there," even though no one else was around. Shocked, I downloaded the app on my own, and when another older male staff member finally showed up, he questioned why I was asking anything without installing the app first. When I responded in the same tone and told him I had already installed it, He just pushed the information sheet toward me without any explanation and then walked away. I had two receipts when I asked him to add my points, but later I found out he only added points for one of them, the same rude staff said again in a very unpleasant tone that they usually don’t add points and only did it because I just signed up. He made it sound like he was doing me a favor rather than doing his job. It was extremely rude. Another older male staff explained that the ice cream freezers were blocked off because of a power outage, so I understood the situation. As I was leaving, he suddenly told another employee to check the freezers again and insisted that I follow him. I said no because it was unnecessary, but he kept repeating himself as if he would not listen to me. When I said I could clearly see from where I was standing that the freezers were still blocked, he continued to insist that I go. After several refusals, I became irritated and said, "Forget it. I am not buying it," and walked away. Right after that, I heard the older men laughing loudly and talking behind my back. If my child had not been with me, I might have confronted them. Why would they treat a customer who just finished shopping in a good mood like this? The elderly staff at the customer service center can’t even explain things properly in English and are shockingly rude. I even saw them mishandle questions from a foreign customer asking about using a membership at other branches. Now I understand why this store doesn’t have many customers on Saturday while other markets are crowded. I deleted the app and I will make sure to tell my foreign coworkers never to visit this place. It is embarrassing that this is the impression people get of Korean markets.
Saw on google maps and decided to stop by. The store was clean and well stocked. A lot of variety but mostly Korean products. Would’ve give it a five star but a product that we purchased change price while we shop from $5.99 to $7.99. Typical Asian store……." I’m sorry "
Had the stray kids pepero! Has all the stuff you need too, super clean and spacious, parking lot is huge!
