Woodland Marketplace Foods

I was just there. I always buy bags for the shelter. Saw them put them back in the cart I grab them from. When I ask why did they put them back they said that is what we do. I have never seen that so I asked for the manager he came to me and stated the same thing. I have been going there for 20 yrs and have NEVER seen that. I asked for the owners name he said I can google it. Then he said I smelled like alcohol. I asked him for a business card he refused. I asked him to write the owners name down he refused. I left. I saw him write down my license plate number after I got home 3 cop showed up. Questioning me what happened at the grocery store. I told them I was buying 3 bags to give to the shelter and they put them back in the cart that I just bought them from. It was suspicious usually they put them to the side to give it to them. Police officers started to ask me if I was drinking per the manager. I declined. I am an er nurse for the city of Duluth for over 13 years. Just asking and making sure what I buy for the shelter and makes sure it gets there calls for police to come to my house.

Dear Marketplace Foods, I have to say this is one of the most charming local grocery stores around. Great store !!!! Must be some kind of magic because there is no way that you should be able to put that much stuff in a store that size. Employees are very well knowledgeable and nice.

Small store run by big brand super one. Fits the size of the neighborhood. Carries a good selection of the essentials but it would be nice to see expanded into the organic market.

As we call it in the neighborhood. "Pigs" is a decent little market. Good selection same pricing and specials as the other miners super ones. But this store is treated like an afterthought. No deli. No meat counter. Etc. So if ya need a emergency buy. It's a good go to. For daily shopping. Again good. If on the hunt for options. Not so much.

Very quick in and out. Basic items available. Staff is fine / never been rude ever. Pretty sure there is no self checkout though. Which I prefer because it's faster than waiting. Usually a short wait at checkout.

We recently moved into the neighborhood and find the convenience offered by having a full functioning Supermarket within walking distance is priceless. The staff is friendly the store is stocked it is clean. About the only thing I see that could improve is the parking lot that has a lot of chuck holes. That is why it's nice to be able to walk there.
