GN Handy Market

I really love having this little shop within walking distance. They have a decent selection and the people who work here are so so friendly. Every time. I love that it feels like saying hello to a friend when I come in, and I really don’t know these people at all 😅 Just adds to the neighborhood charm. I will say that I agree with the reviewer below who wished items were more consistently priced. I prefer knowing what I’m paying (since I’m usually making a splurge candy buy if I’m there 😅) and I feel obnoxious hollering over to them to ask how much something costs more than once. But even with that said, the owners are so nice that at this point I’ll pay whatever the price is because I like supporting this shop and I want them to stay in the neighborhood.

I can't believe this store is still here. When I was a little kid, like 50 years ago, it was called Stan's. Then my next door neighbor Joe owned it for years as I grew up. Pretty cool that it's still there and someone is taking care of it. Other than pavement and sidewalks the outside looks the same.

The owner is always so kind, helpful and welcoming. He remembers all his customers! The store is clean and well stocked. It feels like community every time I walk in.

The people here are nice and the location is really convenient. My only issue is that none of the items have price tags on them. I don't mind the mark-up in prices, but I'd at least like to know how much I'm paying before I reach the counter.

Very nice people. Very clean & organized. Definitely a go to for any last minute things or even just to grab a quick drink/snack.

Love this place. Staff are always friendly. It's a bit pricey, but wouldn't you mark up the prices conveniently placed in the middle of a neighborhood? The only thing they are missing is gas pumps! 🙂
